HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

By myself, with wife as chauffeur, I inventoried 201 square miles of plant and made the company a nice profit

Worked directly for Southwestern Bell engineers in Wichita, Kansas doing estimate and routine work

Successfully completed telephone manhole detailing and cable retagging in a number of western kansas towns with Wichita, Kansas being the largest

Reference back to my field drawings have saved a few contractors a lot of headaches as the final

drawings issued to the contractor had some information not on them that I had preserved

Able to gain access to and get copies of important highway "rights of way" information that others

had not had success in getting for our project

Out of a dozen men that came together for a project, I was the only one that did not have to return

to the field because of not having enough proper information

When I signed a field drawing I had the satisfaction of knowing I was the author of a well done drawing in which much effort, sweat, erasing and correcting went into to produce. It has to pass my stamp of approval

FAVORITE COMPLIMENTS

One day in the office as I was preparing to go out to a project my boss made an unexpected comment that took me by surprise. My boss, Charles Orrell said, "Do you know what I like most about you William?" I replied, "No Charlie, what?" He simply said, "Your honesty"

Mike Murphy was a bell engineer that I did a lot of work for in Wichita, Kansas. One day he unexpectedly started this short conversation in his office and I recorded it before I forgot it. Mike said that he liked that I did good work, that I was very thorough and detailed. "You leave no stone unturned, especially on the Viking job I gave you-----that was flawless, absolutely.!" " It went in with NO problem." "That was brilliant work you did on that one William." "You know, your notes so far have always looked very good and I like most that you are dependable." "I know that if I give you a job, you will do it and do it well."

On a project where my boss in the office was talking with my field supervisor, the field supervisor made a comment to my boss. He stated, "If I had 10 more William's around here, I could just sit back and relax."

At a breakfast meeting of our crew, the field supervisor stated to us all----"Fellow's, William here, I don't know how he is doing it, but he is coming up with sequential numbers on the cables in some of the pedestals." "If you fellow's would look in these pedestals as William is, it could be of real use for us on this project."
