PLY GEM SIDING GROUP March 2007 – June 2008
A leading United States manufacturer of vinyl and metal siding, trim and shutter and accessory products for the residential remodeling, new construction and light commercial markets. Comprised of three individual brands, Variform, Inc., Napco, Inc. and Alcoa Home Exteriors, Inc. with 2007 consolidated revenue exceeding $800 million. Seven manufacturing plants throughout the US, and one corporate headquarters, which is located in Kansas City, Missouri.
Corporate Controller
• Responsibilities include managing six Staff Accountants and five Accounts Payable Clerks.
• In addition to providing the review function for the completion of the internal financials, responsible for preparing account analysis for various higher risk accounts.
• Team Leader for the Accounting Department with the recent conversion of Alcoa Home Exteriors into the Siding Group environment.
• Perform the monthly close for Alcoa in their legacy system, Oracle, and subsequently converting from this accounting software system to the JD Edwards system. Directly responsible for reducing the expected timeline by three months.
• Member of the team to develop the customer rebate programs for over thirty customers within the new software system.
• Responsible for the completion of the consolidated 2008 budget for various departments of the Siding Group.
• Developed and implemented the sales and use tax function for the three brands.
• Monitor the Sarbanes Oxley documentation for all internal controls of the company.
• Liaison with both external and internal audit teams.
• Effectively communicate with department heads in the areas of reporting financial results, analyzing cost containment and business strategies.
ENCORE RECEIVABLE MANAGEMENT, INC. November 2004 - March 2007
Director of Accounting & Finance
• Director of the Accounting Department for a $70 million collection agency with the general office located in Olathe, Kansas and three additional facilities in Lenexa, KS, Tamarac, FL and the Philippines.
• Responsibilities included managing twelve accounting clerks, one supervisor and two managers, who perform daily functions of posting debtor payments, calculating, preparing and sending invoices to clients and reconciling over forty individual client trust accounts.
• Managed the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and monthly closing for the company.
• Directly responsible as the Accounting and Finance liaison between Encore and Convergys (parent company).
• Prepared monthly and twelve-month forecasts for the company, which included sales forecasts for over fifty revenue streams.
• Expanded the information included in the monthly reporting package to increase the use and benefit for senior management and developed individual client profit and loss statements to assist management in the analysis of the profitability of each client.
• Developed a forecasting model for client revenue using trend analysis.
• Performed monthly close process using both Peachtree and Peoplesoft software systems.
• Enhanced the cash application and billing process through automation, which allowed a reduction in staff by five FTE’s.
• Was selected and participated in Convergys’ “Emerging Leaders Program” for 2006.

Manager of Internal Audit
• Perform auditing and special project procedures for the two trucking companies of the holding company.
• Saia Motor Freight, which has a corporate office in Atlanta, GA, and the general office in Houma, LA, was a $490 million Less-than-truckload transportation company in 2004.
• The second trucking company is Jevic Transportation, Inc. with their corporate office in Delanco, NJ (just outside Philadelphia, PA). Jevic had revenue of $286 million in 2004.
• Internal audit procedures included assisting the external auditors in the year-end and interim audit testwork, performing internal reviews on the significant risk areas of the company, which include reviewing the significant insurance-related and revenue-related reserves of the company and documenting the rationale for each reserve methodology, preparing and organizing the quarterly Audit Committee meetings of the Board of Directors, assisted management in their oversight of the internal controls of the company to allow them to report to the SEC in regards to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and traveling to the subsidiaries to perform internal audit testwork.
• Special projects include assisted in writing and implementing new corporate polices for our newly formed publicly traded company, including code of conduct, audit committee charter and insider trading policies.

• One of two employees who performed consolidation procedures for the corporation for over five subsidiaries on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Prepared both internal and external financial reports, with the external reports (10Q’s and 10K’s) being submitted to the SEC. Assisted in preparing the financial reporting section of the required SEC reports and the corporation’s annual report, which included writing and performing the testing of the required disclosures.
• Responsible for reporting all inter-company activity on a monthly basis between the corporation and the individual subsidiaries.
• Prepared the holding company individual budget and consolidated the individual subsidiaries budgets to have one consolidated budget that was given to the Board of Directors for review and approval.
• Assisted in the preparation of the quarterly board books that were used to inform the Board of Directors of the current financial status of the corporation.

• Performed auditing procedures for the four regional trucking companies, including traveling to the subsidiaries and assisting the external auditors in their interim and year-end testwork. This consisted primarily of the documentation of operational and accounting controls and procedures.
• Performed individual projects at each of the subsidiaries including the documentation of internal controls for operating and general ledger procedures, payroll and human resource department reviews, established bad debt and credit review procedures and reviewed and helped establish reserve methodologies for various insurance and revenue related reserves.
