Reported and provided support to the CFO. Oversaw the accounting functions of Corporate and its subsidiaries including multiple family trust entities. Coordinated and implemented the functions of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Dept. Responsible for maintenance of the general ledger, fixed assets, accrued and prepaid accounts. Supervised accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Coordinated and supervised the annual year-end close and independent audit. Planned and scheduled month end closing activities. Prepared various reports for CFO & CEO.
Accomplishments:
Saved the company $80 thousand by working with Wal-Mart’s auditors and EDI department to reverse a claim. This claim had the potential of costing the company four to five times the amount.
Successfully trained the accounting staff who was only allowed to perform limited tasks. Company was using outside services to close month end, post journal entries, adjust or reverse invoices and checks. By training the staff to perform these tasks, saved the company $30 to $40 thousand per year.
Improved the efficiency of payroll processing for 400+ employees by implementing procedures and working with management of various departments. At the same time, reducing companies’ liability potential.
Advanced and expanded the use of EDI and assisted with integrating the EDI system with accounting system. Improved efficiency and compliance with major customers.
In 1998, less than 5% of gross sales purchase orders were received via EDI and by end of 2009 over 80% of those purchase orders received and invoices processed were via EDI.

Held various positions throughout the years. Responsibilities included invoicing, cash receipts, bank and account reconciliations, preparing purchase orders, receiving inventory in the system, accounts payable, daily backup of computer system, training new employees, processing credit card transactions and logistics.
Accomplishments:
The Interactive Health’s accounting department consisted of 3 staff members and the Accounting Manager. The Manager and 2 coworkers resigned within a few weeks of each other. Soon after the company hired a temporary CPA to assist. The CPA and I ran the accounting department for over a month successfully. When company hired the CFO and she in turn hired new staff members, took the responsibility of training the new hires.
