Earnned Ph.D. in International Relations from Florida State University and taught Political Science in Beirut Lebanon (1979-1986). Taught at Georgetown University in Summer of 2009 a course in Arabic entitled Arab Politics in the Middle East. Have been an Arabic Linguist at the Department of Justice since March 7, 2005. Arabic interpreter with the Department of State (1987-2005). Published an academic book in Arabic entitled: Ethnic Conflicts in Multi-Ethnic States. Also fluent in French.

Very familiar with the Arab culture and political/socio-economic issues. Reads at least one Arabic newspaper daily and regularly. I can without any hesitation give a quick English summary about developments in the Arab region and teach English-spekers adults an introduction to the Arabic language. very comfortable in both languages and cultures as I have lived half of my adult life in an Arabi-speaking country and the other half in the USA as a student and a professional.
