Associate Creative Director – Assist Executive Creative Director in the day-to-day management
of the creative and broadcast production departments. Direct creative and marketing initiatives – including creative projects, promotions, sponsorships and trade show/exhibit initiatives – that are important to furthering our clients’ brand. Write copy for radio, television, electronic media and print advertising. Produce radio and television commercials for clients including Comcast (Consumer and Business Class) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Very active in new business development.
JWT. Detroit, Michigan 2000 – 2007 Senior Creative Supervisor – Supervised regional marketing and advertising efforts for several Ford Dealer Ad Groups; including online advertising and the development of Internet and Intranet sites. In partnership with account management, lead monthly client sales/creative meetings and managed the development of advertising products. Wrote and produced television and radio commercials. Developed sponsorships with partners significant to the sales growth of clients; i.e. auto shows, fairs, exhibitions, publications, and television and radio programs. Worked closely with regional offices of the Ford Motor Co. in pursuit of each group’s brand-building and sales-driven initiatives. Managed creative and production of both print and broadcast products, as well as event and promotional activity. Managed five separate $1 million+ creative/production budgets.
DP & Company, Farmington Hills, MI 1997 – 2000
Associate Creative Director – Assisted Executive Creative Director in the day-to-day management of the creative department. Wrote print campaigns, as well as wrote and produced television and radio spots. Developed operations plan for this new agency as a senior member of the company’s management committee. This plan dealt with the daily operations and processes of the agency, including job descriptions and recruitment, job flow, agency project documents, organization, client communications and employee communications. Worked with team to take a piece of Visteon’s marketing business and turned it into the entire account for the agency. Also helped to develop new business plan of attack.
DiMarco/Cole & Assoc., Roseville, MI 1993 – 1997 Creative Supervisor – Managed, created and produced creative for clients including A&W Restaurants and Tastee Freeze. Worked in tandem with agency account representatives to continually further the growth of our clients. Devised and executed a plan for client Guardian Industries to reach auto manufacturers with their message (“a whole car in a box”) on a grand scale, after which prompted contact from Toyota Motor Corp. Managed trade-show initiatives for clients, working with exhibit companies and related vendors.
Patten Advertising, Southfield, MI 1991 – 1993 Creative Director – Supervised creative and production departments, developing advertising and marketing products for accounts that included auto dealers and dealer groups from around the country. Lead the way in bringing several large accounts into the fold.
Dawson & Dawson, Chicago, IL 1986 – 1991 Creative Supervisor – Wrote and produced ads and promotions for several automobile dealerships, including the largest Cadillac dealer in the country. Developed and executed a huge, month-long promotion for this dealership, which helped to launch the Pininfarina to Chicagoland. Included in this promotion was a dealership “meet-and-greet” with the Italian national polo team, a polo match between the Italians and the Oak Brook, IL Polo Club, a Gatsby-themed show/event and a Concors d’Elegance. These events were preceded by a media blitz, as well as public relations and direct mail campaigns, which I also developed.
