The Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS) is a Financial reporting system for CDC that supports the fiscal business processes associated with budgeting, staffing, performance and reporting. It is integrated with other business systems such as ICE, IMPAC II and the financial system, UFMS.

HealthImpact.net is the web-based agency-wide application for Health Impact Planning and searchable knowledge tool containing strategy, budget, and procurement information. HealthImpact.net and IRIS applications are integrated to provide the CDC leaders, all the required information to manage complex portfolios of public health activities to achieve CDC’s Health Protection Goals. Milestones and implements CDC’s Strategic Imperatives and executing the Budgets.

Responsibility:

• Worked with the Business Analysis team to capture the requirements, developing the Software Requirement Specification (SRS) document. Created the Business Process models and Fit-Gap analysis documents.

Project : Automated Royalty Tracking System (ARTS) (Since June’2010)

Automated Royalty Tracking System (ARTS) is a web-based application designed to enable the processing, tracking, and reporting of CDC royalty revenue distribution payments.

• Working as a Data Analyst in defining, modeling the database objects as per the Requirement using the CDC EPLC standards.

• Worked with the Inteum SME to understand the Inteum data structure, data dictionary and business rules.

• Created all the SqlServer objects for interfacing of Inteum with ARTS. Also created the test cases for testing this interface.

• Worked with FMO for interfacing of ARTS with UFMS for processing the Royalty financial transactions in UFMS.

The scope of the ‘Mainframe Migration Program’ to migrate all the mainframe applications and data to cost effective web based applications for performance improvement, enhanced security, and better integration across other CDC applications and efficient Stakeholder Reporting.

Responsibility:

• Primary responsibility include but not limited to identifying and capturing business and data requirements, working with BA in defining and developing project scope and SRS document.

• As a Data Analyst, analyze the current Application Process, data structure in mainframe and relationship between the applications.

The reports are planned now for FSR, Work Load analysis and Fund Tracking data by each Branch and Grants Specialists.

Responsibility:

• Identifying and capturing business and data requirements working with the Business Analysis team.

• Analyzing the feeder system data from IMPACII, UFMS and FOTS.

• Created the data map from feeder system to the target application and also created the with Fit-Gap report.

• Developing the process for extracting from source, transforming and loading (ETL) the data in target database.

Responsibility:

• Reviewed all the IMPACII database documents to understand and analyze the database structure, business rules associated with the data.

• Created the data map, data transformation rules and also the Fit-Gap document for all the missing data.

• Developed the jobs and SQL scripts for downloading the IMPACII data into CDC SqlServer database for supporting the CDC applications to replace the GMS data.

• Created the job and package to export the CAN data to IMPACII.

Project : Managing / Accounting Credit Card System (MACCS) (Nov’2002 – Dec’2006)

Environment : Oracle9iAS, Oracle 9i, BPWin, Erwin

The Government wide commercial purchase card is the preferred means to purchase and pay for micro-purchases. This unique card is a VISA card and the program is called IMPAC program. MACCS is a Commercial-off-the-self (COTS) product for automating the accounting of the IMPAC program.

Responsibility:

• Analyzed and developed the IMPAC as-Is Process, analyzed the To-Be MACCS System processes interviewing the stakeholders and developed the IMPAC To-Be Process. Modified the model based on each release.

• Compare both the processes and created Fit-Gap reports, identified the Gaps.

• Created one page Data Flow Diagram displaying the source of data, data edits, business rules, transformation rules.

• Create the Test scenarios for testing the applications and the future releases. Analyze the test results for acceptance of the COTS application.

Project : Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) (April’2002 – Date)

As part of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) initiative, UFMS is an integrated Department-wide financial system using Oracle Federal Financial for cost-effective business operations at all levels throughout the Department.

The scope of project in CDC is to configure the ‘Oracle Federal Financial application’ aligning with CDC business practice.

Responsibility:

• Responsible for analyzing and documenting the interface between the feeder applications and the (As-Is) Core financial Systems.

• Identified all the interface type, data type and the file formats for each interface. Created the high-level interface models for the feeder systems with the Financial System. Created one page Data Flow Diagram displaying the source of data, data edits, business rules, transformation rules.

• Analyze the interface with the To-Be System (UFMS). Created the To-Be data map identified the source of data and all the required data elements for each interface and Data Transformation rule.

• Researched in Oracle Financial for the interfaces by modules. Worked with the Functional and the technical team during Functional/Technical design Specs. Worked with the Technical team in resolutions of issues/concerns.

• Analyze the test results by reviewed the sample data with the specs. Conducted different meetings to explain the technical users about the new financial system and the change in business practice.

• Worked with the Functional team for designing the interfaces between UFMS and the Financial Reporting System IRIS. Design the database schema in the SqlServer for the downloaded data.

• Compared the source data in the UFMS and IRIS and identified the discrepancies.

Project : Enterprise Human Resources and Payroll (EHRP) (Nov’2001 to Feb’2002)

The scope of project in Data Management Section (DMS) group is to provide the current work activities initiated, managed, and completed by the divisions of the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO) of CDC, which will be needed for transition to the new PeopleSoft 8 software.

Responsibility: Responsible for developing and documenting Business Process Models for Authorization Process based on the Admin code and CIOs. Analyzed the EPATS application and compare with to-be PeopleSoft module to create a fit and gap report. Create the data map including the business rules for Transformation.

Project : Gelco Travel Management Systems (May’ 2001 to Sep’2001)

The scope of this project is to analyzing Gelco Travel Manager Systems (GTM) COTS application for implementation at CDC. CDC uses in-house developed CDC/IS Travel System in Mainframe environment with ADABAS to manage travel requirements.

Responsibility:

• Responsible for performing the fit and gap report from CDC/IS Travel System to Gelco Travel Manager System based on the analysis of both the Systems.

• Analyze both the systems for creating the process mapping based on the different processes and sub-processes used based on the business rules used in different procedures in both the application.

• Identified the data elements used in each process of both the system for data mapping of CDC/IS System to Gelco TM.
