Since 1989, I have demonstrated an ability to be multifaceted and have 20 years of project experience in the energy efficiency industry. A seasoned executive with in depth experience in project development, contract negotiations and customer satisfaction, I have also managed lighting design/development teams and led project development for both medium and large size energy opportunities.

My experience also includes international travel and I have presented educational programs on behalf of Johnson Controls Inc (JCI). I have presented Performance Contract (PC) seminars in Sao Palo Brazil, Santiago Chile and throughout the Country of Argentina focusing in the Buenos Arias area. At the JCI Americas Corporate level, I worked directly with corporate educational director Judy Mouton and my best practice webinars that I authored were shown in multiple states. My power-point presentations for emerging markets and new technologies were used as national training tools by JCI.

PROJECT EXPERIENCE AT JCI JULY 2001 - NOVEMBER 2011:

California Small Buildings project for DGS including DMV’s, CHP’s, DMH and DDS in the State of California 2011

State Owned Buildings: Was a lead developer for this DSM initiative for the state of California. I worked directly with Howard Sacks of the Department of General Services for the State of California. (see reference letter) Developed a complete energy, lighting and controls replacement/retrofit strategy for DMV, CHP and other State agencies. Included in this work was creating the detailed scope for lighting retrofit, M&V reporting protocol, remote system controls capability, analysis of the baseline energy use, the proposed savings and estimating the construction costs. Project managed to ensure accurate installation and original design intent was realized. A total of 50 buildings have been completed throughout California. M&V was critical for these projects.

State of Hawaii project for Department of Transportation (DOT) including all Airports, Shipping Ports and Highway Maintenance Yards in the State of Hawaii 2011

State Owned Buildings: Was a lead presenter and developer for this DSM initiative for the Sate and Island of Hawaii. Worked directly with agency contacts and developed a complete energy lighting and controls replacement project including creating the detailed scope for lighting retrofit, analysis of the baseline energy use, the proposed savings and estimating the construction costs. A total of 40 sites have been identified and submitted to HDOT. Contract Awarded to JCI January 2012.

Guam project 2010-2011

State Owned Buildings: Was a lead presenter and developer for this DSM initiative for Guam territory. I worked with John Cruz and his engineering team. He is the lead project contact for the Guam Power Authority. Developed a complete audit, specification and installation strategy for over 16,000 streetlights on the Island of Guam. Ensured and oversaw a competitive bid analysis and negotiated volumetric pricing and warranty considerations working with contractors (various) and manufactures including LEDalux for LED (Rob Cross) and Deco for Induction (Sam Sinai). Currently waiting project award.

Park Place Entertainment, NV (Las Vegas Hilton and Caesar’s Palace)

Entertainment: Developed detailed scope and energy retrofit measures for three casinos. Areas of the casinos that were included were hotel rooms, common areas (casino floor) and back of house areas (i.e. food preparation). Security areas with surveillance equipment had special requirements that were factored into the energy retrofit. The security areas had special needs regarding electronic interference and glare which were addressed. Developed a melatonin suppression strategy to help better identify customer malfeasance and promote longer gaming times by customers

IN CONCLUSION:

Having spent my last Ten years working with Johnson Controls Incorporated (JCI) last as a Lighting Development Manager of their newly formed JCLS group, there are multiple reference/recommendation letters from JCI’s engineers to corporate VP/GM’s available upon request. Having demonstrated exceptional consultation, presentation, evaluation and problem solving skills through the years, these are truly a part of me and are my forte. My experience has shown repeatedly a diverse background in identifying Demand Side Management energy projects with a proven ability to contribute immediately to a company’s bottom line. I have demonstrated the natural ability to identify savings and energy opportunities and am recognized for working extremely well with customers, peers and upper management. I have also been involved in the desired marketing and branding of our customers, in regards to public relations, community outreach and positive image.
