• Accomplishments:
I managed and executed the in-house Video Production Unit’s mission to produce effective and rapid-response videos and multimedia materials from conception to completion as requested by all departments within the agency, to facilitate corporate communications.
• Assignments:
Video and still photo requests include special event documentation, instructional / informational videos, public / promotional Media Relations events, executive message profiles, corporate safety and security measures, sales/marketing, etc.
• Visibility:
My work represented the agency’s accomplishments via distribution to; City, State and Federal dignitaries, postings on the agency’s internal intranet and public website, to social networking websites YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook.
• Cost-saving Multi-tasking:
I was a cost-effective asset to my agency by:
1) expertly executing a diversity of tasks, I reduced personnel costs, and
2) by creating multimedia materials whose wide distribution relieved staff from having to repeat personal presentations.
I single-handedly executed; Scriptwriting, Producing, Directing, videotaping / lighting, audio recording, editing and distribution of completed projects to DVD duplication, web-posting, FTP file sharing, plus digital asset management and archiving.
In consultation with clients, I assessed customer needs, created and reviewed scripts and storyboards, pre-visualizing the video before shooting with voice-over narration
and on-camera interviews.
I scouted locations, created digital effects, selected and edited music, narration and sound effects. I also shot and animated still images and graphics within video edits.
• Diversity of Personnel Communications:
I successfully trained, provided technical direction and interacted with all levels of internal and external personnel, from; Mayor Villaraigosa to City Commissioners to HACLA Directors to clients to all levels of agency staff.
• Recognitions:
A 2009 video I created won my agency a prestigious national NAHRO industry award.
HARDWARE:
I extensively operated digital video and still cameras (tape, tapeless, SD, HD, DSLR, multi-camera setups), digital audio recorders, set microphones, lighting, and supervised production crew members. I maintained and troubleshot a complex of video
equipment and made recommendations for purchases and upgrades.
SOFTWARE:
I work cross-platform (Mac and Windows), and have extensive experience with the Adobe Creative Suite CS5 (incl. Photoshop, Premiere, After-Effects, Sound Forge, Media Encoder), Final Cut Studio Pro, and the MS Office Suite.
