PERSONAL I personally hold my bachelor’s degree attained from the University of Texas as my
ACHIEVEMENTS greatest accomplishment to date. I find that successfully completing college while working
full time, raising a son, and continuing a relationship took a lot of dedication and fortitude.
As a graduate from one of the best engineering universities with a 5-yr old son and a
fiancé, I hope to start my career as a chemical engineer and start building a better future
for my family.
COURSE/LAB/ University of Texas at Austin, Aug 2005-Dec 2010
PROJECT 25 Hands-On Semester Hours
EXPERIENCE
Contributed to a senior design project that included capturing carbon from a flue gas through the use of
alkaline solvents. Aspen was utilized to propose a model that included an absorber and a stripper to
extract the carbon and prepare it for sequestration via compressors. It was a goal to maximize both profit
and efficiency while keeping start up and performance costs to a minimum.
Worked on improving the efficiency of a distillation column by optimizing a PID controller (Proportional-
Integral-Derivative Controller) via numerous tests and analysis. Suggested values from previous reports
were tested and served as the basis for the experiments. The optimized values we proposed to be
adopted and implemented as the new set controls were accepted and used for future lab experiments.
Performed numerous titrations, pH and viscosity readings.
Worked in teams of three to perform several lab experiments dealing with compressible gas flows, statistical process control, and absorption of gases.
Composed written professional reports on a weekly basis, and through the use of Excel and Powerpoint, composed numerous presentations.
