Calculated and issued manual, commissions, retro pay, and bonus checks when requested by management. Provided the setup and monitoring of garnishment and tax liens while interacting with the proper agency and courts to resolve all issues.
• Setup payroll deductions and monitored the allocation of funds to vendors such as 401K matching and 125 Cafeteria plan.
• Maintain the setup and payment of PTO accruals according to company policies. Maintain worked, PTO, holiday, and special pay hours in time system (ADP etime). Developed reports for use by management in all departments using ADP Reportsmith. Conducted training on company procedures and technology used by employees. Coordinated and monitored the tax filing and year-end process (including W-2s) with payroll service vendors.
Human Resource Generalist
• Served as HR generalist and provided assistance with new hire paperwork, terminations, pay adjustments, involuntary deductions, and employee status changes. Conducted new hire orientation and assisted with 401K and medical insurance open enrollment. Conducted technical training in the use of payroll, time clock, and PTO request systems. Assisted with producing company employee handbook and the new manager's guide.
Accomplishments
• Researched and setup Welfare to Work Tax program offered by the Department of Labor which provides tax credits when hiring qualifying employees.
Automated the manual PTO request, PTO tracking, and 401K matching process and system in order to save worked hours while processing, keep accurate records for audits, enable employees and management view request status, and to meet compliance laws.
• Added employee time punch data and PTO accruals information to pay stubs, which allowed employees to monitor worked hours, and pay.
By providing informational seminars focusing on employee benefits the company was able to increased enrollment by 25% for 401k and 40% for direct deposit.
