Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

I have extensive, practical, and hands-on experience in repair of diesel engines and various types of equipment to include mechanical, air/airbrakes systems, hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting. I work on the Caterpillar C7 engine and have worked on Cummins, Detroit engines and other Caterpillar machines and equipment. I am seeking employment with your organization as a heavy equipment mechanic supervisor or mechanic. I am currently an Automotive Technician for Oshkosh. I will bring to your company attention to detail and safety awareness and my extensive mechanical skills, computer skills and technical skills with a chance for advancement. I am a team oriented supervisor and makes sure the job is done right the first time around.

2011- Present Aerotek/Oshkosh

I am currently employed as an Automotive Technician on the M-ATV Mrap all-terrain vehicle. I instruct students on the operation, controls and maintenance of the vehicle. I also troubleshoot any technical problems such as electrical, mechanical and/or air system. I use computer and other diagnostic equipment and programs such as Bendix, DANA, CAT ET and Noregon DLA plus JPRO on the Caterpillar C7 engine to diagnose and/or re-flash the systems ECM to update software and to check for any malfunctions that may arise. I perform cut out test of injectors and air systems. I also provide instruction to military and civilian personnel on the operations and maintenance aspect of the M-ATV MRAP with the Caterpillar C7 engine and Allison transmission.

2003- 2011 L-3 Communications Vertex Aerospace (GS13)

L-3 communications Field Service Representative (FSR). I have also served as a Field Service Representative (FSR III) for the Rapidly Emplaced Bridge System (REBS) in Iraq in 2009 and am currently with the Marines in Afghanistan since 2010. I provide the customer with classes, hands on training, in the operation and maintenance of these systems. Helped the GSE shop with troubleshooting of AC problems on MRAPS. I also provide feedback and weekly reports to TACOM and the manufacturer (General Dynamics European Land Systems Division) on what are the shortcomings of the systems and how are the systems performing in the field. Inspector and Site supervisor for LBE (Left behind equipment) at Fort Polk, La from Mar 2008 thru July 2008 and as an Inspector for the Army reserves at numerous units in the west coast regions from Feb 2007. I have supervised 40 + employees during performance of organizational, intermediate and depot level maintenance. I have supervised personnel on modification and repair of vehicles and other field team services. I am responsible for quality control and safety. Also, conducted evaluation of all jobs practices and resolves technical, production and supply problems.

2003-2003 CVE Inspector, Eagle Support Services, Kuwait (GS13)

Inspected Abrams Main battle tank,(M-1 tanks), Bradley Fighting Vehicles(BFVS), M109, M992A2 and numerous types of combat vehicles for cracks, battle damage and other assessment of the equipment to be classified into reset program and/or return to unit. We were using the Talk Man inspection system for these inspections. We inspected hundreds of pieces of vehicles and trailers for the Combat Equipment Evaluation program.

2003-2003 Diesel Mechanic, Iberia Truck Repair

I performed preventive maintenance on various types of tractors and trailers to include updating and replacing brake chambers, lines, brake shoe adjusting and replacing bearings and races. Replaced drivelines, removed and install transmissions, radiators, replacing batteries and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical malfunctions and PM services.

2002-2003 Diesel Mechanic, Louisiana Machinery Caterpillar

As a diesel mechanic I perform preventive maintenance services on various types of Caterpillar, cranes, road graders, 320B excavators, and D6 series dozers, D250E, D350E, 416E trucks and other various types of machines for customers and/or the company’s rental fleet. I perform initial and final inspections of machines that are being worked on by me. I ordered parts and other items that are necessary for the corrections of all problems that were found in the initial inspection and as the machines are being worked on. I troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, fuel and other system problems, rebuilt hydraulic cylinders and control valves. I use a computer to access parts availability and to write service reports, perform diagnostics and to check status of parts ordered.

2000-2002 Shop foreman, Eagle Support services, (GS10)

As a mechanic / shop foreman I performed M-1 Tank inspections to 10/20 standards to include troubleshooting and installations of parts and major components; i.e., fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, vehicles electrical and/or electronic systems and controls and also mechanical, suspension system and engine diagnostics. Ensured all safety guidelines and regulations were followed. I operated heavy equipment for an ongoing National Guard contract in Texas and Minnesota. These vehicles consist of M1 Tanks, 5tons, 2 1/2 ton trucks, M1068, M113A3, M270 rocket launchers, M998 series vehicles and various other types of military equipment.

2000-2000 Mechanic, Lear Siegler Inc.

As a team member, I ensured that all differential yokes, starters and transmissions were replaced, installed and torque to specifications on LMTV type vehicles. We worked on an assembly line type of operation, i.e.: moving to the vehicle in a specified amount of time. I also drove a forklift from time to time. We completed over 1000 vehicles in less than four months.

1999-1999 Mechanic, Lockheed Martin Logistics

Ensured all services were met and performed to standards in a timely manner on heavy wheel vehicles, 4000lb fork lifts. I troubleshot, isolated, and identified causes of systems or components malfunctions. Operated and inspected vehicles diagnosis and inspection purposes. I troubleshot air, hydraulic brakes, transmissions, transfers and electrical problems. I performed agriculture cleaning on all types of military vehicles for storage and shipment to other countries.

1999-1999 Auto Mechanic Pep Boys Automotive Center, Austin, Texas

I performed tune up on all types of vehicles ranging from trucks to sedans. I did extensive brake services to include turning rotors and drums, to replacing the master cylinder, wheel cylinders and brake shoes and/or pads. I performed diagnostic charging and starting troubleshooting on various types of vehicles. Performed tire balancing, rotation and replacement. Informed customer on short comings and need for replacement of other components, also ordered parts for type of jobs to be done. I performed oil changes daily on engine and transmissions.
