Project #1: Retail Automation System

Role: End to end application developer

Duration: 01-Jan-2012 to 10-Mar-2012

Description:

Retail Automation is a Windows Application. It automates various activities of a Retails outlet. This project was developed on request from a retail shop in Bangalore.

This application includes the below main modules,

Retail shop data repository

o Products & Stock details

o Customer details

o Distributor details

o Salesman details

Barcode generation & Label Printing

Billing

Reports

The shopkeeper (manager) adds the product and other details into the data repository. There are options to Add/Modify/Export the various data details above mentioned. When the product is added to the application, all the necessary details like, Name, MRP, Selling Price, Cost Price, Tax Type (0%, 14%, 15%), Discount% etc.. are added so that the same can be used during the Billing

Cashier of the shop doesn't need to provide all the details of the customer purchased products. Entering the product name and quantity will suffice for billing. While printing, the system calculates the total amount, with MRP, Discount and Final Rate product wise, VAT and Discounts offered for the customer. Products returned by the customer due to various complaints can be tracked in the bill. Billing feature also provides option to save a bill for later modifications/printing.

For each product, there is a label generated which can be printed using label printer which is later posted on the product. Label includes product name, Expiry date, MRP, Selling Price, Cost Price and Barcode. Cost Price is not printed as numeral but its encrypted before printing. Cost price on the product label can only be decrypted by the Shop keepers/managers. Barcode is generated based on the product name. Following the EAN13 international standard, first 2 digits of the Barcode is the country code followed by product name.

There are various reports which help auditing, revenue/tax calculations. Reports may be

Generated for any duration that user opts. All the reports are available to export in Excel.

Project #2: Media monitoring (www.greenhorse.in)

Role: End to end application developer

Duration: 01-Dec-2011 to 31-Dec-2012

Environment: .Net Framework 2.0, C#, Asp.net, Css, java script, SQL Server 2005

Description:

Media monitoring, it’s a Web application used for updating and presenting news for the user’s perspectives. It’s the free Landseer work for the one of the reputed company in Bangalore. This application includes the below main modules like,

Updating News

o Add news detail

o Upload photo

Send mail

View news detail

Download news Photo

The admin adds the news detail and upload photo into the data repository. There are options to Add news, Add client, Add email id, modify the various data details above mentioned. When the news is added to the application, all the necessary details like, Title, Edition, Publication, Source etc... Are added so that the same can be used View this news to the client and this detail will automatically send mail to the client mail id. Client can download photo of news in jpg and pdf format. After adding news detail client get the mail about all the updated news.

1. Asp.net project: All India College & Reference (Internship)

Language: C#, SQL server 2000, ASP .Net 3.5

Role: Requirement analysis, design, development and testing.

Duration: 6months

Objective: The aim of our project is to provide computerized details of all courses and college this system will provide many details to user. In this system there are two main modules that are Admin and User. User can able to use and see the details but admin only able to edit or delete any information in this system and database also maintained by admin only. This project having two parts one searching colleges, universities and another one part is like social network it means sending messages to friend adding new user as friend.
