University City Science Center-Maintenance Mechanic July 2005– Present

- Under chief engineer: monitor and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment including: HVAC, electrical, emergency back up systems and hot water systems; Air conditioning equipment; boilers, ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and adjust for proper operation of equipment; analyze the operation of various systems, determine cause of any problems/malfunctions and make corrections as required. Facile with Operated Honeywell and Trane building automated systems.

- Install and repair plumbing/piping/tubing, including Sloan automatic flushometers and electronic sensors for sinks., valves, hot water systems, Installed lighting switches and receptacles; general carpentry including patching holes, painting, repairing counter tops. Assist other engineers and mechanics with major repairs (HVAC) and maintenance of the buildings equipment.

- Complete work orders re preventative and corrective maintenance on critical systems.; consult and initiate materials orders with Lead Engineer; report finished workscopes using required documentation.

- Directly operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment and components. Oversee 3rd party contractors for the safe and compliant operations, maintenance (corrective and preventative), and modification of critical equipment. Disable and enable fire alarm control panel and systems.

- Emergency response ready for emergency situations (fire, load loss, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns. Comply with departmental policy re safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintained a clean and safe work environment.
