Sprinkler Fitter, Union *** Contracted [June/2001 - present]

As a Dept. of Labor certified Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter, I install and maintain fire suppression systems in new constructions sites and retro-fitted buildings. These duties include reading and understanding of technical blueprints, and solid written and verbal communication skills; all of which require a high attention to detail. The skills utilized during job operations were learned through the apprenticeship program include: stick, mig, & tig welding, soldering, brazing, metal and plastic pipe fitting, and the mathematic principles for travel and offset pieces. Effective time management and comprehensive safety measures are a key function of every facet of the business. As a Lead Journeyman Foreman, I supervised certain job sites and attended foreman meetings while training apprentices. I also gained skills through exposure to various power tools and crane, boom, and hijack lifts.
