* Gene expression and sequence data analysis obtained from GEO, GXD & SMD.

* Mapping biological pathways to literature mined protein–protein associations.

* Developed protein-protein interaction algorithm using literature mining protocols and machine learning methods.

* Quality analyst, data mining specialist for protein-protein interaction algorithm.

* Bioinformatics support and performance developer for Bio-Map tool.

* Analysis of biological networks constructed from omics data.

* Modeling biological pathways using different software tools.

* Data analysis and visualization specialist for research articles.

> Research Technician/Database Developer – IU Dept. of Hepatology (Apr 09-Aug 09)

* Database developer and interface designer for clinical research data.

* Worked on collecting, analyzing and managing clinical data related to the on-going research in the department.

COURSE PROJECTS:

> Biological Database Management:

* Designed and semantically integrated a comprehensive human pathway database which facilitates a semantic level integration of human signaling pathways, regulatory networks, and protein-protein interactions (in-info-web4.informatic.iupui.edu/~gkkilaru/p1.html).

* Knowledge of concepts on database structure, design and management along with data normalization has been acquired as a part of the course syllabus.

> Scientific and Clinical Data Management:

* “Adding knowledge to Human Protein Reference Database” – Database is constructed using SQL Server 2008, data was processed using MS Excel, Spotfire has been used to visualize and interpret the results. Documentation and progress has been monitored continuously using Waters Vision Publisher.

> Introduction to Bioinformatics:

* “Diabetes Protein Repository” – Using 7 different sources of proteins, genes and drugs associated with the causation of diabetes, a database using MySQL was developed with a web-interface, designed using HTML, PHP and JAVA. Database was automatically curated through PERL parsing.
