FRS is fully web based and can be accessed by Citigroup’s intranet through web browser- Internet Explorer. The inbound data is uploaded and processed into the Data Warehouse. The data from the warehouse is periodically processed into Essbase. The predefined Hyperion reports access the multidimensional data in the cubes for historical and other types of analysis. Advanced Commercial Energy System (ACES) was a new system, which was being implemented to provide data to the data warehouse and to the end users across the country through Essbase cubes. The cubes provide earning statements, Net income statements, Earned net income and various other business segment reports, which are dependent on the nightly Essbase batch process. Developing calculation scripts depending on the accounting business logic was one of the various challenges in the project. Visual Basic and Essbase Integration Services was used to load and update the Essbase cubes. Developed, designed, implemented, tested, and deployed Hyperion Planning cube for forecasting and budgeting for finance users. Intensive troubleshooting was one of the requirements since the data load was dependent on various processes and the cubes were supposed to be available to the users 24/7.
