Held responsibility for supervision and operation of maintenance and automotive and shipboard fuel systems. Implemented department’s maintenance program while performing other duties. Served as Departmental Maintenance Supervisor and qualified 20 personnel as maintenance personnel. Led six fuels personnel in certifying air department’s fuel system during major ship inspection. Operated catapult launch and retract panels, consoles, firing panels, water brakes, chronographs, blast deflectors, and cooling panel. Performed aircraft-handling duties related to the operation of aircraft launching and recovery equipment. JP-5 Pump Room Supervisor, USS Denver LPD-9, San Diego, California, 2003-2004

Ensured safe operation and maintenance of the JP-5 and Mogas refueling system. Served as key player in the in the safe delivery of over 250,000 gallons of fuel to marine aircraft and vehicles. Implemented a comprehensive tool control program. Operated and serviced motorized fueling equipment; maintain fuel quality surveillance and control in aviation fuel systems ashore and afloat;

Trained, directed, and supervised firefighting crews, fire rescue teams, and damage control parties in assigned fuel and lubricating oil spaces; observed and enforced fuel handling safety precautions.

Maintained 100% completion rate for the department while conducting over 500 maintenance checks with no mishaps.

Operated, maintained, and repaired valves and piping of purging and protective systems within the air department spaces aboard ship that was key in the distribution of 50,000 gallons of automotive gasoline.

Tested, troubleshooted, located calibrated, and performed preventive maintenance on a variety of fuel systems, components and devices to ensure that fueling equipment remained operational and in ready use to conduct uninterrupted flight operations.

Rebuilt fuels equipment to manufacturer’s specifications, including motor controllers, transmitters, level instruments, audio-tone transmitters, and devices using operational performance standards and particular testing equipment; right defects in instrumentation.

Aviation Administrative Assistant, USN Naval Air Station, North Island Coronado, California, 2003

Planned, directed, and coordinated all administrative services of NAS Coronado such as records and information management, mail distribution, facilities planning and maintenance, custodial operations and other office support services. Qualified six junior personnel as mail orderly. Oversaw 6 junior personnel in all phases of Aviation administration.

• Coordinated Ground Support Equipment (GSE) License training for eight administrative personnel that led to the only department to pass all of the required support equipment certifications and receive a Fleet letter of commendation from Command Admiral.

• Oversaw all maintenance and repair of machinery equipment of all administrative facilities while assigned as lead administrative supervisor that produced a grade of outstanding on the department maintenance assessment.

Fuels Crewman, USS Dubuque LPD-8, San Diego, California, 1999-2003

Held responsibility for the integrity and safety of flight deck and below deck fueling stations, including roving and validating in writing each station on their condition status. Managed maintenance upkeep, repair, and operation of all below decks refueling systems and associated equipment. Observed and enforced handling safety precautions and maintained fuel quality surveillance and control in aviation fuel systems. Served as first non-supervisor to qualify as JP-5 pump room, and automotive gasoline operator. Earned recognition as junior sailor of the quarter within first two years.

Performed preventive and corrective maintenance on aircraft fueling nozzles, nozzle quick disconnects, de-fueling valves, and aircraft fueling stations and de-fuel pumps. Dispensed fuel to various makes of jet aircraft and helicopters, insuring safe delivery of fuel (JP5), and performance of quality assurance checks and tests of various samples of fuel for water, sediment, FSII(fuel system icing inhibitor), flash point and quality which led to 100% quality assurance grade on aviation fuels certification and a promotion to fuels crew leader.

Tested equipment included CCFD (Combined Contaminated Fuel Detector), NAVIFLASH, and B-2 FSII Test Kit. Conducted tests on fuel delivery equipment to included nozzles, hoses, hose reels, pumps, values, supply lines, holding tanks, fuel monitors, and transfer mains to operate and maintain fuel quality assurance laboratory analysis regulation.

Recorded operating data such as products and quantities pumped, stocks used, gauging results, and operating times to comply with the duties and responsibilities as Fuel Distribution System Worker.

Performed all accounting transactions pertaining to requisitioning, procuring, scheduling, ordering, reporting, and document preparation for aviation fuels, ground fuels and missile propellants for accuracy and to emphasize my responsibilities as fuels accountant.

Operated and maintained complete fuels distribution system to receive, store, transfer and issue both aviation and ground fuels to various fueling department to ensure continuous flight operations.
