MINI PROJECT

REMOTE CONTROLLED FAN REGULATOR

Remote controlled fan regulator which gives the feature of controlling speed of a fan by means of remote. In which TSOP1738 was used as the receiver module, the control was established by means of infrared signal from the remote transmitter. The circuit was constructed by using the timer NE555 which was wired as mono stable multivibrator. ICCD4017 was used as counter cum driver circuit. By using the IC’s pulse to vary the firing angle of the triac can be produced and speed of the fan can controlled. MAIN PROJECT (In Bachelor’s Degree)

IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EMBEDDED SYSTEM FOR ELECTRICAL MACHINE TESTING

Our project was aimed to monitor the various parameters of a loaded single phase induction motor and with the parameters monitored, losses incurred in the machine, overall efficiency was calculated and it was displayed in PC. The various parameters monitored were voltage, current, speed and temperature. At the time of running, present condition of the motor was displayed in the LCD. The monitored parameters were transferred to PC by means of interface from PIC micro controller. The input power, total loss, output power and efficiency were calculated in the PC and it was displayed. In case of tolerance limit violations, relay-driver circuit will trip off the motor. Thus our project was automated by reducing manual calculation.

MAIN PROJECT (In Master’s Degree)

EXTRACTION OF TYPHOON EYE FROM TYPHOON CLOUD USING IMAGE ENHANCEMENT AND SEGMENTATION

Typhoon cloud is the time variant weather event. Due to the changes in the weather condition, the quality of obtained cloud image is reduced. Image enhancement technique is used to improve the quality and global contrast of the cloud image. Image enhancement can be done by either suppressing the noise or increasing the image contrast. Existing image enhancement methods for normal images are histogram equalization, gamma correction method. Existing enhancement methods for typhoon images are discrete wavelet transform, complex wavelet transform, stationary wavelet transform. The enhancement methods such as histogram equalization, gamma correction and linear filtering method are applied to typhoon cloud image.

Image segmentation refers to partitioning an image into group of pixels. Segmentation methods like k-means clustering and fuzzy k-means clustering, adaptive k-means are existing. Results of histogram equalization, gamma correction and linear filtering methods are obtained by using MATLAB software. The better global contrast is obtained by linear filtering method which is preceded for the segmentation to make the typhoon eye more obvious. Segmentation methods used are texture segmentation, flat maxima, modified flat maxima, regional maxima, modified regional maxima, region growing based segmentation. Clear typhoon eye is obtained by flat maxima based segmentation.
