Organizational Details
Present
Since 1999 with Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd, Thal Unit, Joined as Management Trainee (E0) in July 1999 and presently working as Sr. Plant Manager (E4) in Ammonia Plant
• Ammonia plant in Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd having a combined capacity (two streams) of 3500 MTPD (original capacity 1350 MTPD) with dual feed, Natural gas and Naphtha, on technical know-how from Haldor Topsoe A/S.
• Plant operation includes Natural gas steam reforming, CO shift conversion, CO2 separation (Benfield process), Methanation, production of Ammonia (Synthesis Process), NFSS (Naphtha Feed Supplementary Scheme), HGRU (Hydrogen Gas Recovery Unit – Air Products Membrane Separation), storage and handling of Ammonia, loading-unloading of BTALs & road tankers, steam production of 160 MT/Hr capacity (at 100 Ata pressure) in dual fired (gas & naphtha) heater boilers and Honeywell DCS along with Advanced Control System (RMPCT).
• Catalyst replacement in various reactors of Ammonia plant, like online/ off line catalyst replacement of ZnO absorber, MT CO shift converter, offline catalyst replacement of HDS, Primary Reformer (SpiroLoading), Secondary Reformer, HT/ LT CO shift converter, Methanator, Pre-Reformer (Naphtha prereforming), etc.
• HGRU is Air products technology, based on purge Gas washing and separation of hydrogen gas using membrane (PRISM) separator.
• NFSS is add-on section in original Ammonia plant of 1350 MTPD to enhance the capacity. This includes sulphur removal from feed Naphtha in two stages (pre-desulphurization & final desulphurization) and Pre-Reforming of Naphtha, before feeding to primary reformer. NFSS section is running at capacity of 40 T/Hr against the design 29 T/Hr (at 140% excess).
