I just completed my AS degree in Fire Science at los Medanos Community college. In May of 2008 I completed an Emergency Medical Technician class as well as CPR certified. I am currently enrolled in a Fire Academy at Los Medanos College to become a Fire Fighter.

Drillers Helper / Pump man

A Drillers helper constantly keeps fuel full in the drill rig and other equipment at all times. When drilling I am required to remove the cuttings from shaker with the Backhoe. When drilling I am required to remove several six inch drill pipes from the rack and screw them into the drill pipes. When making the well I am required to carry one hundred pound bags of sand over to the well and dump them in. With the forklift, I load materials onto the trailer and strap down. When I'm on the pump crew, I will run a pump truck to pull pumps out of a well. Fix broken water lines, as well as plumb a whole water system together with various fittings. Operate a trenching machine to dig trenches. Operate a whacker to compact soil. I also can Operate a jackhammer to break up concrete where there is a broken water line. We also work on sewer pumps wearing full tyvex suits. I have been in lots of confined space entry.

Maintenance

I would operate a big floor washer and scrubber machine. I would sweep floors, empty all trashes in the store, clean bathrooms, fix appliances and anything that broke in the store. I would push carts, and customer service.

I would cook food orders, wash dishes, pots and pans, serve tables, customer service, manage employees, run cash register and count money at the end of the night.

I completed 74 units of schooling at Los Medanos College, concentrating on Fire Fighting with a degree in Fire Science. I took various classes ranging from the basic general ed, like math, English, science, history, to Emergency medical technician classes. overall I’ve taken 25 classes at a college level and I feel that I am well rounded in most subjects.

2008 Emergency Medical Technician

EMT GPA: 3.0 - Los Medanos Community College, Pittsburg, CA

This class taught me how to do basic life support to someone the needed it. We were taught how to do CPR, how to help stabilize trauma patients and assess them for life threatening issues and attempt to fix. How to handle various medical issues that may or may not be life threatening.
