Skills:
- Programming in C , C++, C Mixed Assembly and (basics of) Python.
- Familiar with the concept of object oriented programming
- Used Microchip microcontroller (PIC24FJ64GA002) for motor control application and serial communication including RS-232, RS-485, I2C, SPI bus and DMX-512 by programming it using MPLAB IDE .
- Basic knowledge of Microprocessor (8085) , memory interfacing and peripheral devices.
- Experience of working with the lab equipments such as CRO/DSO , Circuit Analyzer , Multimeter for testing and measurements and have worked with PCBA including circuits with Surface Mount technology.
- Used MATLAB and Simulink software to perform design of control system using PID and LQR.
- At present learning LabView for data acquisition using NI-DAQ.
- Conversant with Ladder Logic programming of PLC used in automated process control and familiar with basics of Modbus protocol and SCADA systems.
- Acquainted with the basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Internet browsing.
- Effective Verbal as well as Written Communication Skills in three different languages: English, Hindi and Marathi
Technical Projects :
- Timing Intensive Asynchronous Communications Interface To Control Up To 512 Devices (Spring 2010):
- A project to build an Asynchronous Communications interface using DMX512-A protocol was completed. The controller accepts commands from a PC via an RS-232 interface and continuously transmits a serial stream on RS-485 link to control up to 512 devices on a communication bus. Devices on the bus extract information out of the asynchronous data stream and control one or more devices.
- Real Time Operating System (RTOS) (Spring 2011):
- Developed and implemented a C code used as RTOS in a PIC microcontroller. It involves the prioritized scheduling of tasks, blocking and unblocking of tasks based on availability of semaphores and co-operative or preemptive task switching.
- Design of a typical Inverse Time Over-current Relay (Fall 2010):
- Developed an algorithm in Matlab which can be used in a microprocessor based Inverse Time Over-current Relay (CO-8) emulating the behavior of a typical OC mechanical relay
- Estimation of Location of a Rover and Motion Control of a Rover using a Microcontroller (Fall 2010)
- The location co-ordinates of a rover with respect to stationary beacons were found out using ultrasonic transceivers interfaced with a PIC24F microcontroller and its motion was controlled using inputs from optical encoder and digital compass.
Relevant Coursework:
Programming in C and C++, Embedded Microcontroller, Basics of Analog Electronics, Microprocessor, Programmable Logic Controllers, Control Systems Design, Integrated Circuits, Computational Methods in Electrical Engineering
Work Experience:
- Rectifier Design Intern- Energy Systems, Lineage Power, Plano, TX (June 2010 – Aug 2010)
- Learned about the modeling and control of different power converter topologies (Buck, Boost & Flyback) which are the building blocks of a rectifier using models in MATLAB and Simulink.
- Worked on the Power Factor Correction (PFC) of a rectifier which made use of Average Current Control Scheme used in PWM control loop.
- Tested the newly designed DC bias, performed open and closed loop frequency response analysis and tested the current transducers for its reliability beyond their rated range and documented the results for future reference.
- Lab Assistant in Office Of Information Technology (OIT), The University Of Texas Arlington (Feb 2010- Aug 2010)
- Provide customer care services and help to students using the computer labs on campus.
