Sr. IT Process Manager, Chubb Commercial Insurance (2008-Present)

Provide PMO support for new development and production support of Chubb Custom Market commercial platform that integrates agent, vendor (CSC POINT IN and Agency Link) and internal systems. Manage IT QA team, assign resources, create/manage project schedules, assess risks.

Designed and implemented testing strategies for three major separate year-long development efforts. The releases resulted in 70% premium growth in 2010 (from $85 to $144 million).

Led process improvement initiative which reduced time to market through creation and implementation of new test bed and reuse standards, practices and templates.

Devised new data validation application and process, shaving 15% off of testing timeframes.

Created new procedures for tracking and documenting errors, leading to successful SOX audits.

Sr. IT Process Manager, Strategic Resources (2006-2007)

Played key role on PMO for PeopleSoft HR system development effort, in charge of project processes, standards, schedule oversight and reporting.

Initiated Chubb’s pilot outsourcing project, the Executive Protection System (COBOL/IMS), with a $1.3 million budget and 12 offshore/6 onshore staff.

Directed the development of the Korean Cargo Certificate Issuance System, a distributed (Korea, Singapore, India, US) Java/WebSphere development effort.

Successfully managed OS/VS to LE/MVS COBOL conversion for the Chubb Commercial Insurance (CCI) division (21 applications and approximately 10,000 modules). Created detailed best practices, including staffing metrics formula to assist application project managers accurately scope their conversion efforts. Member of COBOL Steering Committee, setting corporate direction.

Led CCI’s Windows NT to XP operating system migration, including testing of 120 applications.

Managed three internet (Java/WebSphere) and eleven MS Access projects and staff.

Spearheaded development of the Certificate Issuance internet system. The application was created in Visual Age Java/WebSphere, and was the Java pilot for Chubb.

Led development of the Motor Truck Cargo Legal Liability internet application. Improved efficiencies in development by encouraging utilization of common components.

Oversaw creation of the Builders’ Risk Java/WebSphere internet application, which won an excellence award from IBM’s Beyond Computing Magazine.

Facilitated user interface design sessions employing use-case methodology.
