Description:
This project worked towards providing support to the client’s Mainframe Datacenter wherein the Mainframe Storage Team’s responsibilities were to carry out all the various activities to make sure that the data was available to programmers around the world, 24/7. Availability was ensured by monitoring the Ticket-Environment through HPSC (HP Service Center) where issues from various Mainframe users were solved. Apart from that, our team worked towards keeping the storage servers, tape silos and the rest of the products running, up-to-date by watching out for patches/upgrades and installing them. We also work along with Operations to deal with all Console Messages.
Responsibilities:
Maintain storage capacity to allow for new and expanded data allocations.
Copy data/volumes to target volumes/storage groups as required.
Delivering the report on different format like HTML, PDF and RTF.
Using PROC APPEND, PROC REPORT, PROC SUMMARY, PROC MEANS, PROC FREQ etc.
Creating SAS datasets by using Base SAS.
Implement, support and maintain the standard Test/production environment
Validate and test the vendor-supplied upgrades for third-party tools/applications when released.
Support tape database maintenance applications (expiration processing, off-site movement reporting, etc.).
Creation of backup applications that are scheduled to run daily/weekly/monthly
Generate the report on daily, monthly and yearly basis.
Allocation of storage and related activities for creation of new DB2 systems and creation of appropriate related policies in ACS.
Maintain backups of master and user catalogs.
Reading and extracting the data from flat files.
