Work experience in various positions since 1980 have been primarily sales and management in the construction related manufacturing industry. These positions have included working in three major markets in the U.S. – Washington, D.C., San Francisco, CA. and Phoenix, AZ.

December 2008 Project Manager: Employed to manage a $3M project at City Center in Las Vegas.
As the owner of the project began having difficulty with financing they pulled several portions of the contract back from SMI and the owner determined he no longer needed a P.M. exclusively for that project.
May 2004 - Pittcon Industries, Phoenix, AZ (Western Region Office)
June 2008 Regional Manager: National architectural metal fabrications company. Responsible for geographic area of all states west of the Mississippi. Promoted products through box lunch presentations to architects and contractors. Made cold calls to prospect for new customers and strengthened relationships with existing customers. Managed independent sales reps in all western states. Traveled extensively throughout all western states and supervised or assisted in product installation as necessary. Responsible for oversight of employees and production at Phoenix, AZ and Ontario, CA branches.
Achievements:

May 2004 Self-employed as a residential/commercial plan designer using AutoCAD 2000. Painted murals in a variety of residential and commercial locations. The reason for this short period of employment is that my parents had severe health issues that required temporary relocation to the east coast area.
January 1997 - Blakeway Metal Works, Inc., San Francisco, CA
September 2002 General Manager: Responsible for supervision of Operations including manufacturing Shop, Field Installers (Union Ironworkers), Engineering and Project Management personnel for architectural metal fabrications company. Worked directly for owner and provided scheduling, short/long range planning, recruitment and evaluations. Occasionally managed projects with high profiles or unusual requirements for both residential and commercial clients. Visited construction sites to view progress of work and make sure schedule is met. Worked with architects and contractors as sales rep for company. Oversight of an average of thirty employees.
Achievements:
• Made significant improvements in employee morale through monthly meetings, recognitions, etc.
• Created new position for Safety Manager to improve company’s poor safety record and decrease OSHA violations and Workman’s Comp premiums. Company went 3 years accident free after this.
• Created budget for marketing the company and products through various resources.

December 1997 Operations Manager: Worked directly for owner to provide supervision of shop, Shipping/Receiving, Engineering and Project Managers for national architectural metal fabrications company. Profit and loss accountability, interviews and hiring, evaluations and disciplinary actions and purchasing for sheet metals and extrusions.
Achievements:
• Found new suppliers and opened accounts to get more competitive quotes.
• Made various improvements to organization and housekeeping in the production shop to improve efficiency.
