FDOT PROJECT EXPERIENCE

AMEC, E & I Key West, Florida

2012-Present

Currently, Senior Inspector for multiple Lap Projects for the City of Key West. The Projects consist of the total reconstruction of 14th Street (Glynn Archer Drive) from U.S. 1 (North Roosevelt Boulevard) to Flagler Avenue and the construction of new sidewalks adjacent to Gerald Adams/College Road. The 14th Avenue Project consists of installation of the new stormwater drainage system which includes Contamination Assessment and Remediation (CAR) sections, construction of new roadway subgrade, base and asphalt sections, sidewalk, curb & gutter and landscaping improvements.

Hatch Mott MacDonald Pensacola, Florida

2005-2011

Senior Inspector for the installation of Pedestrian Actuated Signals for twenty-three intersections in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. Improvements to the referenced group of intersections included the installation of new Pedestrian Actuated Signals, the construction of ADA compliant curb ramps and the placement of thermoplastic pavement markings.

Design Engineer for the preparation of FDOT roadway plans for several Projects utilizing MicroStation Version 8, GeoPak and Sheet Navigator computer programs. Additionally, I was responsible for assisting in the development of Temporary Traffic Control Plans and performing project constructibilty reviews.

Provided Project inspection services for the installation of composite sheet piling and gabion mat systems for beach erosion protection along two (2) miles of State Road 30 (U.S. 98) between Santa Rosa Boulevard and Destin Beach Bridge in Okaloosa County. The referenced project was experimental in nature and was designed to provide permanent hurricane protection for the heavily-traveled four-lane arterial roadway.

Quality Control Engineer for the total reconstruction of the Interstate 10 bridges over Escambia Bay in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. The referenced bridges were severely damaged by the effects of Hurricane Ivan. Duties included daily inspection of formwork, placement of reinforcing steel and concrete. Additional duties included daily Project documentation as well as construction materials testing.

Project Inspector for the re-construction of State Road 87 (Segment Five) in Santa Rosa County. The Project consisted of the total reconstruction of 3.75 miles of roadway from County Road 184 to State Road 10 (U.S. 90) and installation of the stormwater drainage system.

Senior Project Inspector for the reconstruction of the Escambia River Bridges on State Road 10 (U.S. Highway 90) in Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties. The Project consisted of the demolition of the existing Eastbound Bridge Structure and construction of a new Eastbound Bridge Structure as well as the replacement of five (5) spans of the existing Westbound Bridge Structure.

Project Inspector for the total reconstruction of State Road 87 (Segment One) in Santa Rosa County. The referenced Project consisted of the construction of additional travel lanes and installation of the stormwater drainage system as well as the construction of a new bridge structure.

Contract Support Specialist for the total reconstruction of State Road 291 (Davis Highway) in Escambia County, from Interstate 10 to University Parkway and State Road 290 (Olive Road) from West of Davis Highway to Gregg Road. Duties include the supervision of office personnel. Additional duties included providing daily Project Administration assistance to the Senior Project Engineer, development of Supplemental Agreements and Work Orders, processing of the monthly Project estimate, CQR data entry and contract claims analysis. Additionally, I was responsible for the development and submittal of the Final Project Estimate.

Construction Consultant to The Commonwealth of the Bahamas-Ministry of Public Works, for nineteen- (19) road construction Projects being designed and constructed to FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. The referenced group of Projects included new construction, total reconstruction and rehabilitation Projects.

Project Administrator for the total re-construction of State Road 291 (Davis Highway) in Escambia County from Interstate 10 to University Parkway and State Road 290 (Olive Road) from West of Davis Highway to Gregg Road. Duties included the supervision of all Project inspection and office personnel. Additionally, I was responsible for supervision of the development and submittal of the Final Project Estimate.

Contract Support Specialist for the Bayou Texar Bridge Replacement Project and the associated milling and resurfacing of State Road 10A (Cervantes Street) in Escambia County. Duties included providing daily Project Administration assistance to the Senior Project Engineer, development of Supplemental Agreements and Work Orders, processing of the monthly Project estimate and CQR data entry. Additionally, I was responsible for the development and submittal of the Final Project Estimate.

Project Inspector for State Road 98 at the 57th Avenue intersection, State Road 95 from State Road 292 to State Road 296 and State Road 97 from County Road 4 to the Alabama State line. Duties included daily Project inspection, material sampling and testing and contract administration. I also assisted the Project Administrator with the development and submittal of the Final Project Estimate.

Inspection of the emergency re-construction of two (2) miles of State Road 30 (US 98) between Santa Rosa Boulevard and the Destin Beach Bridge in Okaloosa County. The referenced emergency reconstruction of State Road 30 was necessary to repair extensive damage to the heavily traveled four-lane arterial roadway resulting from Hurricane Opal.

Project Inspector for improvements to the 41st Street Interchange on the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade County. Project consisted of utilizing existing lime rock base as material for the construction of new stabilized sub grade and construction of new asphalt base and friction courses.

Project Inspector for the total reconstruction of 3.8 miles of U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade County. Project included the installation of 240 drainage structures, 17,000 linear feet of 24" French drain and 7,500 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe. In addition, 172,000 square yards of asphalt base course as well as new curb and gutter and four-inch concrete sidewalk was constructed as part of the referenced Project.

Parsons Brinckerhoff Construction Services, Inc. Tallahassee, Florida

1994-1995

Project Inspector for several projects associated with the rehabilitation of Interstate 10 in Leon, Gadsden, and Jefferson Counties. Work associated with these projects included grinding and profilography of concrete interstate roadway, bridge widening and addition of new bridge traffic railing, box culvert construction, cracking/reseating and resurfacing of Portland cement concrete interstate roadway and installation of stormwater drainage systems.

Performed Project inspection duties for the total reconstruction of 2.3 miles of State Road 5A (Nova Road) in Volusia County.
