Welding Engineer (March 2008 – July, 2008).
Provide technical feedback to company’s West Africa and the Gulf of Mexico engineering, estimating and project management groups to enhance Pipeline, SCR and Structural work project performance.
Review customer’s specifications to determine the correct material, code and weld procedures to be utilized for the pipeline, structural, and SCR work. This includes; process selection, material and consumable selection.
Prepare and submit weld procedures (WPS) and (WPQR) on wide range of carbon, stainless, aluminum steel and alloys as per AWS, ASME IX, API and DNV codes to ensure compliance for customer’s review and acceptance.
Review project engineering drawings and customer documents to produce Weld maps and WPAR.
Provide technical support to the QC Supervisors, QC Technicians and Weld Foreman Offshore and onshore to ensure satisfactory performance which meets the customer’s needs and code requirements.
Assist in set-up and administration of training and qualification programs for welders on project need basis.
