Primary responsibility is to provide social work coverage to Emergency Department staff and patients. Responsibilities in the Emergency Department include, but are not limited, to the following: working with families regarding grief, loss, trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, fetal demise, child abuse, elder abuse, geriatric issues, advance directives, P.C.P. referrals, financial assistance referrals, prescription assistance, homelessness, locating/contacting family members in emergency situations, behavior management, and psychological assessments. Also responsible for being on call and training new on call per diem staff. Secondary responsibility is to provide in-patient social work coverage to individual units. I often assist R.N. care managers with difficult placement issues, facilitating family meetings and patient care plans, assist with meeting Medicare guidelines, and patient guardianship issues. My job entails working hand in hand with several other departments such as Security, Risk Management, Patient Access, Physician Practices, Nursing Staff, and Administration.

I am an adjunct faculty member in the Human Services curriculum. I currently teach Introduction to The Human Services Profession. This is the introductory course for new students entering the department. I also teach The Aging Process course. Both of these courses attract non-traditional students. I clearly Recognize that students have many educational opportunities and find that the more interested and Involved they are the more likely they are to continue their education. Student retention is highly valued especially in the role of teaching an introductory course.
4/2005 – present Genesis Behavioral Health-Emergency Services
I am a per diem Emergency Services Clinician responsible for the following: Responding to the 24 hour emergency phone hotline, completing mental health evaluations in the local emergency rooms, completing Involuntary Emergency Admissions as needed for patient and community safety, and maintaining documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

Senior staff member and staff supervisor in residential setting working with adolescent girls. Served as a positive role model for 12 females from local dysfunctional families. Encouraged and taught high school juniors and seniors how to work with financial aid, awards, and scholarship letter writing. Responsibilities included weekly counseling, recreational activities, residential care, maintaining a safe and secure environment for both residents and staff, provide transportation, tutoring, and assisting girls in creating their own healthy goals and boundaries. Responsible for reporting on a monthly basis to D.C.Y.F. Coordinated quarterly treatment plan meetings, reported directly to courts in which the residents’ cases were represented.

Responsible for investigating reports of child abuse and neglect. I was promoted to Juvenile Probation and Parole. As an officer, my responsibilities were not limited to but included: protecting the communities in which I worked, activity checks, working with school administrators, legal prosecution, reporting to the judge, maintaining weekly contact with juveniles both on probation and parole, completing predispositional investigations, maintaining clear communication with providers and family members involved with clients, and maintaining confidentiality within small communities.

Responsibilities included: supervising up to nine staff members, facilitating staff training, 53 program participants, statistics, NH childcare licensing regulations, developing and improving current experiential education program, member of the Manchester Childcare Licensing Committee, **Interim Teen Coordinator for approximately six months.
