Engineer (Research), Machine Dynamics and Failure Analysis

2008-Present

• Led a project to determine the effect of Journal Bearing dynamic properties on critical speed and vibration modes of Forced Draft fan

• Carried out detailed analysis of coupling torsional failures in 600MW Boiler feed pump train, and established a torsion test rig for its experimental verification

• Eliminated resonance and beat phenomena in 975kW vertical motor by bringing structural design modification

• Developed a Neural Network engine on MATLAB for machine fault diagnosis and signal validation

• Solved vibration problems of Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Pumps, Hydrogenerators of around 12 power plants across India

• Designed a tri-axial exciter to perform natural frequency analysis of 600 MW turbine bed

• Working on the development of electromagnetic dampers with IIT Delhi for vibration suppression in turbo machines
