Mapped and cloned C. elegans unc-58 gene and found that it encodes a member of the TWIK potassium channel family. Identified the insecticide endosulfan as a novel direct blocker of the UNC-58 channel.
ROSENSTIEL MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTER, BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY | 1994-1996 | Waltham, MA. Cloned the E. chrysanthemum homolog of the E. coli recJ exonuclease. Used the resulting alignment to predict functionally important regions and to model the three-dimensional structure of the RecJ protein.
