Executive Summary

I have seventeen years of casino industry experience directing, managing, and implementing long term plans. I have built excellent relationships with patrons, employees, peers, and vendors.

I know in these tough economic times I can be an asset to your team of professionals.

Experience

Casino Queen E. St. Louis, IL 1993-2010

Director of Retail

Under this title I was in charge of several divisions within the company. The divisions included retail gift shop, canteen area, RV park/Mini Mart, employee uniforms, and valet. Within all of these divisions I worked closely with the Human Resource division to be part of interviewing, selections of employees, training, and bi-weekly payroll systems of Uni-time and ADP. Responsibilities included but not limited to budgets, staffing, and selection of retail goods, inventory, and working closely with the marketing division on many projects.

During my time as the Director of Retail many new ideas were implemented at our property. The retail division ran a Ticket Master location, Illinois State lottery, and debit cards for patron usage in dining, retail, and hotel areas. The RV Park installed a new internet reservation system and our valet division installed a more customer friendly car retrieval system.

Queens Club/ Promotions

I successfully ran our slot/table games club card division during the peak years of opening the casino. I was responsible for starting the table games club card division at that time and was the only property to award cash for points. I also made the decisions on all products that were awarded for points before the onset of all cash back to patrons. With this responsibility I too did planning, budgets, staffing, and payroll duties.

All daily and later on monthly promotions were planned, budgeted and executed by myself and Queen’s Club staff members. I was responsible for the weekly “senior gifts” and monthly giveaways as well.

When the Casino Queen became the first casino in Illinois to have a “land based” look we successfully transformed our entire club points to a tiered level and continued with many perks to our customers staying within our grand reopening budgets.

Table Games

I was a Floor Person for two years with workable knowledge of Blackjack, Roulette, and Mini-Baccarat. Responsible for a six game pit area in the absence of a Pit Boss. I was promoted from within after starting with the casino as an opening day table games dealer.

Dixie Cream Donuts

Owner and Operator

Duties included purchasing of supplies, staffing, payroll and small business taxes. I conducted all daily operations as well. I closed the business to further my career in the casino business.

Dillard’s Department Stores IL and MO 1980-1986

Fashion Buyer

In charge of Junior Sportswear, duties included all selections of incoming goods, by season, for 27 division stores. Duties included all purchases and markdowns within budgets of store clustering. Daily communication with warehouse, vendors, and store managers was a must. I traveled extensively with this position as well.

Assistant Men’s Clothing Buyer

Assisted buyer in clothing selections, inventory by size by store, and prepared my self for the above position.

Clothing Sales Associate

Front line employee that learned the company, followed direction, and interacted with customers very well. I was responsible for sales, floor setting, and cash balancing.

OVERVIEW

I have years of experience with the public, peers, and executive staff. I am a loyal, reliable, and self starter in both fields of operations of casino and retail. I have a proven history of increasing sales and profitability. My leadership qualities and interpersonal skills are outstanding.
