Office Manager

July 2008- May 2009

I was in charge of managing and maintaining the dental office. I used mainly the Practiceworks Software for scheduling appointments and making payments. I billed the insurance companies for procedures and followed up when they misunderstood or denied claims. I figured up payroll. I made sure our patients understood the procedures they were undergoing as well as the cost of the procedure. I was in charge of accounts receivable. I took payments and made sure the books were correct at the end of every day, month, and year. I updated charts to make sure medical history was correct and knowledgeable. I assisted in some dental procedures when needed. I handled the phones and all visitors. I kept everything in stock and made orders when necessary. I made sure our schedule was full by making recalls and letting the hygienist and Dr. know when we were full, had emergency visits, or had gaps in the schedule. I referred patients to other doctors when needed for different issues such as surgery. I was in charge of lab shipments as well and called the lab daily with prescriptions for our patients’ procedures.
