To whom it may concern,
I am looking for a career shift. I have been teaching yoga in the Springfield and surrounding areas for almost 10 years now. I love what I do, but I need and want something with greater challenge, stronger financial stability and benefits.
I have a variety of skills to offer. I can work well with people and can obviously work well alone and unsupervised. One cannot be self-employed for as long as I have been without self-discipline. I possess quick and accurate computer skills. I learn very quickly. I am friendly and can work with the public or by myself. I do well under stressful situations. I am very timely and being late is something I cannot tolerate. I have a strong work ethic. I did not miss a single day of school my senior year in high school.
I spent 9 years at Baird, Kurtz & Dobson working in their Central Administrative offices where my duties included assisting with payroll, accounts receivable/payable as well as massive data entry and answering of phones. Confidentially was a must at this job.
I attended some college during that time frame as I was interested in nursing.
That shifted when I purchased my own business - a 5,600 square foot video store which I owned and operated for 12 years with 10 employees. At this job I was pretty much responsible for every facet of operation. I hired and fired and trained employees. I worked the cash register. I did my own payroll, paid my own bills and did my own purchasing. I worked long hours and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of owning this business. The store was pretty much squeezed out by chains in 2005. At that time, I decided to close shop.
Yoga became a large part of my life during my video store ownership. I continued to dive into the practice and started teaching while I owned the store. Teaching yoga continued and broadened after the closure of the store. It has been my sole source of personal income for quite some time.
I am also feeling the need to challenge myself and am curious what else is out there for me at this time. I have a very flexible schedule which I do value, but of course would be willing to give up for the right position with the right people, at the right place.
Thanks so much for taking time to read this. If you are interested in more, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Kirsten Kukal
