Safety, Health and Environmental Manager (2010 – 9/2011) Engineering Solutions Capital Projects: Responsible for leading, training and establishing safety compliance programs and establishing hazard identification and prevention for in house maintenance work group employees and contractors. Role duties included establishing hazard identification and prevention, facilitated safety team meetings, wrote operating disciplines (safety procedures) such as critical, routine, and emergency.

Dow Chemical Co. Texas Division Freeport, TX

Safety, Health and Environmental Technologist (2000 – 2009). Responsible for leading, training and establishing safety compliance programs for in house Polyethylene work group employees and contractors. Role duties included establishing hazard identification and prevention, facilitating safety team meetings, wrote operating disciplines (safety procedures) such as critical, routine, and emergency.

Emergency Services & Security Technician: Responsible for Health, Safety & Environment reporting. Duties included environmental issues, and emergencies and spills. PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Replaced outdated, generic, lengthy safety program indoctrinations. Created and implemented motivating interactive presentations which were customized for specific plants. Photographed actual work sites, interviewed maintenance leaders, and wrote thorough job descriptions. Program provided all contract and in-house craftsmen employees a comprehensive orientation to their particular job’s equipment and environment. In addition to boosting morale, the program increased safety awareness and job productivity.

Collaborated with Emergency Services and Security team to create and implement a plan to reduce overtime expenses due to budget cuts. Solution involved taking alternate days off and reducing overtime costs by 62.5%

Included in my job role is industrial hygiene, I responded to plant operators’ complaints about the cumbersome location of a transfer valve used during the unloading of chemicals from tank trucks to storage tanks. The valve was difficult to reach and required working in an awkward and cumbersome position. Interviewed operators, inspected site, led an ergonomic evaluation, and coordinated with operators the ideal location to address issue. The valve was relocated, and the complaints immediately stopped. Work resulted in ~20% work productivity.

Established and implemented a process for collecting and disposing aerosol cans to eliminate negative impacts to the ozone. Investigated and determined optimum site for maintenance employees. Led the approval process and completed project within five weeks. This resulted in the plant conforming to Environmental compliance.
