Lead Specialist, Production Systems – Hot Strip Mill, (July, 2011 – present) Defined, implemented and improved IT-Processes regarding manufacturing execution in the manufacturing area of a steel mill while working with mill management and vendors to provide primary end-user support in the administration and maintenance of the MES and TWMS systems.
• Coordinated and implemented the identification process for genealogy issues after slab swapping activation in TWMS and a correction procedure for affected coils in MES and SAP systems.
• Assisted Slab Yard personnel in the TWMS configuration and activation of a new bay to expand slab storage for increased production demands.
• Developed specifications for requested MES and TWMS software enhancements to meet Hot Strip Mill business needs and internal/external customer requirements.

• Facilitated analysis and design for replacement of UPS systems in primary and backup data centers between corporate server support, local hardware support, and mill project engineering representatives.

• Developed ad hoc and scheduled reports for production and accounting inquiries from an Oracle-based product tracking data warehouse. Maintained report links, execution schedule, and database connections on mill intranet site and report server.
Information Systems Engineer, (1998 - 2001) Designated as IT representative for Pulp Business System supporting information requirements of power, recovery, pulp, and wood yard areas.
• Designed and implemented migration plan replacing a Vax-based PI server and archive database with a Windows-based configuration of 3 area servers transferring data to 1 main server accessed by mill users.
• Developed mill-specific training manuals and conducted mill-wide training classes for 100 operators, engineers, managers, and maintenance personnel on client applications accessing the Windows-based process data system.
Engineer – Information Systems (1995 - 1998) Served as IT representative for Offset Business System and Market Pulp Business System by identifying opportunities to support business needs and customer requirements.
Associate Engineer – Information Systems, (1994 - 1995) Completed initial configuration of the Vax-based PI archive system for the mill’s power boilers and turbines while providing the availability of process data from control systems for up to 2 years. Gained understanding of mill developed as well as proprietary interfaces transferring data from control systems to the database.
