1. November 2006 to Auguest 2010. Midroc Gold Mine – PLC, Ethiopia.

Position : Manager – Drilling machines and General utilities.

A Midroc Ethiotec Group of Companies – The largest Opencast and Underground Gold mine in Eastern Africa and annually producing 3600kgs of Gold.

Deployed at Legedembi Gold Mine.

• Responsible to report the equipment status in Department meeting on daily basis.

• Handling the overall activities of Workshop and field service and ensuring the maximum availability of equipments to meet production targets.

• Field activities comprise Routine Inspection, trouble shooting, carrying of planned maintenance jobs of Atlas Copco (DM45, CM780, ST1030, MT436 ) and Sandvik (1500 Rock pilot, Toro9 & 7, Axera6 & 7, Supermatic, etc.), Normet (Charging, Scaling & utility) make equipments.

• Workshop activities comprise the major repairing / rehabilitation of machines - includes major repairing of Electro-hydraulic components, Transverter, Rotary Screw Air compressors (IR, Atlas Copco & Tamrock), Hydraulic drifter-HL1500, Hydraulic pumps, Motors, Cylinders and undercarriage units.

• General Utilities comprise the maintenance of Plant diesel generators (CAT3512, CAT PGS500 & Cummins K-19), HP-Air Compressors (Atlas Copco and IR), Welding shop, Tyre shop and Machine shop.

• Control over four supervisors and Seventy-nine technicians including three expat.

• Conducting weekly meeting with Supervisors and mechanics to review the safe working condition, leave schedules.

• To prepare the yearly budget for Drilling machines - mechanical & electrical spares, machine shop materials for fabrication, Welding shop materials for Bucket and Dump body repairing and Vulcanizing materials for tire repair shop etc.

Delegated to acting as Director for Heavy Duty Maintenance Department.

Heavy duty Maintenance Department consists of the following sections,

Hanger shop, Field service, Light vehicle maintenance, Component & Engine repair shop, Tyre shop, Machine and Fabrication shop.

• To preside the Department meeting on daily basis to schedule and implement the job plan.

• Participating the management meeting on behalf of HD on weekly basis to review and resolve the managerial issues.

• To provide availability to the Open Cast, Under Ground Mining and Exploration Dept. of the following machinery’s- Drill Rig, Dump Truck, Loader, Excavator, Dozer and Motor Grader of Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Sandvik, and Atlas Copco.

• Coordinating with planning department and forecast the weekly available of machineries for mine production & metallurgy operation.

• Responsible to release purchase order for spare parts in line with budget and requirements, monitor and control inventory.

• To prepare and execute the schedule and major repairing of Excavators CAT - 5110B, 385C, 245B & Hitachi Zaxis850, Dump trucks (775E, 773D, 769C & D), Wheel loaders (990, 988H & F, 980G), Dozers (CAT-D9R & N, D7R), Komatsu275A, and 14G Motor grader.

• To maintain the availability of buses, Light Vehicles for the entire fleet of mine operation.

Notable Achievements:

• Major repair work done on three HR2.5 Air compressors (1200Cfm @ 350psi) first time in Legedembi workshop with local technicians.

• Maintained 85% availability of Heavy-duty Air compressors make IR-two no’s UP5-30-8.5 & three no’s M30 (Electric driven) and Atlas Copco make four no’s XAHS37 & two no’s XAS36 (Diesel driven).

• Maintained 80% availability of two Panterra 1500-Rock pilot Drills after working of 2000 hrs until the current hrs of 18000 hrs without major rehabilitation.

• Scrutinized on non moving spares and reported in order to that benefited for more than half million Birr by returning non-moving spare parts to OEM on mutual understanding.

• As a member of Tire committee generated the awareness of haul road maintenance and successfully reduced the operating cost of HEMM trucks and loader tires by regular inspection, repairing, and following tire Swap program.

• Completely reorganized maintenance plan and improved the reconditioned engine life from 1000 Hrs up to 8000 Hrs.

2. December 2001 to October 2006 Revathi Equipment Ltd - India.

Position : Supervisor Grade – V.

Manufacturer of Truck and Crawler mount Blast hole & Water well Drilling Rigs, Transit Concrete Mixture unit in India. Annually manufacturing average 25 crawler & water well drilling rigs.

Deployed at CIL, NLC, HZL, NMDC and CGWB projects in India.

• Responsible for Erection, Commissioning and testing of Blast hole drills of diameter 250mm & 165mm and Combination Water well drills of depth 500mtr & 300mtr.

• Was Area in charge - Service and Sales for SECL Projects since May 2005.

• Control over 9 Service engineers & technicians

• To maintain the availability of warranty & non-warranty machines on monthly basis to achieve the yearly target.

• Carrying out CBM method on drills according to their age and working condition.

• To prepare monthly report on Drill availability, spare parts consumption, DTH hammers & bits performance in MARC project.

03no’s Truck mounted combination Water well rigs (DTH & Rotary) commissioned and proven the capacity by DTH and Rotary test wells for CGWB projects – Bhopal & Nagpur.

03no’s Crawler mount C650E (BHD) Electric prime mover rigs commissioned and tested at Neyveli Lignite Corporation and proved the performance by achieving 85% availability by operating 1000Hrs and drilled above 25000Mts within 150days period of time.

Successfully commissioned and proven the performance of Four no’s (C650D) drills at Hindustan Zinc Ltd-Rampura Agucha Mine in Rajasthan under MARC (Maintenance and Repair Contract) for two years.

Proven the enhanced life of DTH hammers (Mission 6 & RD6) from 5200mts to 8500mts.

3. July 2001 to December 2001 Drill Max India Ltd.

Position : Sr.Engineer - Service.

Leading Manufacturer of Exploration rigs - Diamond core Drills, Mud Pumps and Sand Separator Pumps.

Responsible for Commissioning, testing and maintenance of Skid Mounted Diamond core drills and Duplex double acting reciprocating Mud Pumps (6 & 8inches) supplied in Southern region of CIL - Coal wing and AMSE – Exploration Wing.

4. December 1998 to June 2001 Kores (I) Ltd. – Engineering Division.

Leading Manufacturer of Truck and Trailer mount Water well and Blast hole Drilling rigs & Mud Pumps in India.

Deployed at TWAD Board and NLC projects in Southern India.

• Responsible for Erection, Commissioning and testing of Truck mounted Water well rigs and Skid mounted Mud pumps.

• Successfully commissioned three 450 meter, four 150 meter (160mm hole dia) truck mounted Straight Rotary drills and proven the Capacity for TWAD Board.

• Successfully assemble and commissioned one 600mtr Diamond core drill for CIL Exploration wing.

5. Jan 1995 to Nov 1998 Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd.
