Achievements:

• I was a primary contributor to the financial turn-around of Linetec’s Paint facility in FY07. The Applications project significantly improved paint transfer efficiencies as well as highly influencing the Rework Reduction and Throughput projects for the same year. All total the improvements exceeded $1,000,000 in cost savings per year.

• I led the Engineering group to create comprehensive training programs complete with testing that resulted in changing behaviors and bad habits. The Training programs fully supported the project listed above.

• Completed Six Sigma/Lean Mfg training as a Black Belt in August 2001and completed a number of Six Sigma/Lean projects as well as a Kaisen Blitz events resulting in considerable savings.

• Worked with Wisconsin Focus on Energy programs to implement significant energy savings projects on Linetec’s oxidizer, compressor system, chillers systems, and lighting that resulted in large energy savings as well as incentives from the state.

• Corrected numerous deficiencies in Linetec’s environmental compliance program at both the Wausau plant and the Georgia plant as well as coordinating and successfully completed all environmental compliance reporting and testing.

Central Coating & Assembly (Hitachi) – Mt. Pleasant, MI

Titles: Plant and Engineering Manager

Employment Dates: 3/1995 to 8/2000

Achievements:

• Was instrumental in financially turning around Central Coating & Assembly which lost 8% in 1994 to a company which made a best ever 13% profit in 1998.

• During my time at Central Coating & Assembly, we transitioned out of computer hard disk drive magnets (80% of our business) to other types of magnets and also to new processes for our customers. Simultaneously, we dropped the average cost of our service by 50% while increasing the compensation of our employees by 50%.

• When I started at CCA, Hitachi Magnetic Corp. was 90% of our business and when I left, Hitachi was 50% of the business.

• Started zinc plating (only company in the world), electroless nickel plating, and e-coating processes over rare earth magnets.

• Held many responsibilities such as plant management, engineering, company quality, process chemistry, environmental compliance, process development, training and procedures, and salesman.

• Increased the quality of product and the productivity of the employees at Central Coating & Assembly by chemistry changes, equipment upgrades, training, and leading by example.

Achievements:

• Engineer-in-Charge of $1,500,000 and $700,000 plating machine projects from conception to completion which included justification, development, installation, and start-up.

• Developed SOPs for a large plating department that ran copper, zinc, nickel, and brass as well as powder coating.
