Energy Management Specialist

I created the Division’s energy management program and had direct energy management responsibility for the Division’s managed facilities (about 3 million sq. ft. consisting of multi-story office buildings, courthouses, State Capitol Complex, museums, cafeterias, and other facility types). I worked with directors, managers, and maintenance personnel. Objective was to reduce energy use and cost while maintaining or improving the work environment. Work included utility billing and rate schedule reviews, facility audits, and energy conservation project identification. Projects included: building automation, lighting conversions, HVAC upgrades, demand control, window film, power factor correction, etc.

Conducted training classes for DFCM craftsmen on operation and programming of various building automation systems; taught the CFC (refrigerant) certification classes.

Reason for leaving: I remarried and relocated to my new spouse’s location in Dallas, Texas.
