Objectives:

To pursue a multi-denominational ministry within an organization that requires a Chaplain, Pastor, Minister or Reverend. To gain experience as a compassionate Pastor and counselor, a caring Minister, and an effective Chaplain and Reverend.

To have a challenging position that will utilize my experiences and unique abilities.

To obtain a high-impact leadership position requiring creative and innovative approaches to problem solving, strategy development and the fulfillment of God’s word.

Position Summary:

I have satisfied and follow the Biblical elder’s qualifications: (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).

My major is in Angelology.

Regular meeting every Saturday, bible study, practice to sing in church or lead church worship songs.

Schedule special events (sport, charity, social) once a quarter for team building, participation and developing future leaders.

Attend church council meetings, provide updates and plans.

After 3 months, present strategy and action plan for growth.

One on one counseling as needed to help Youth with issues.

Visit parents to get support and discuss specific issue and or need.

Meet with Pastor, church council, or others regularly (at least monthly) to discuss specific issues and concerns.

Attend/participate in Youth Camp either full or partial, especially at beginning and the end (August).

 Youth able to sing in church or lead worship songs – monthly.

 Youth contribute to special services – Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc..

 More will attend Sat meetings and demonstrate more understanding of the Bible.

 Youth can share learning from the Bible and testimony in front of large group.

 Youth Leader attends meeting with Church Council after 1 year and give update.

 YD - Develop a strategy and action plan for growth both spiritual and in number after 3 months and present to church council for implementation for remaining of the year.

Visits patients/families to provide pastoral care as determined by spiritual assessment and the interdisciplinary team plan of care. Acts as a liaison between patient/family, all local clergy, Parish Nurses, and all Health Care Ministries and the interdisciplinary team. Attends interdisciplinary team meetings to provide spiritual input to the plan of care and to interpret spiritual and emotional issues for the team.

This would also include counseling patients with terminal illnesses, working with families to help them respond effectively to an approaching death of a loved one, and then working with families after the death of their loved one to be sure that their grief and reactions are appropriate. In selected cases, further counseling would be provided as needed in private and group settings. I would also perform last rites and funerals if appropriate. Further referrals would be also appropriate in some cases.

Upon notification of pending incoming of ambulatory care patient(s), I would meet all needs of the patient concerning pastoral care. As for inpatients, I would assist in feeding of the sick where I may be of assistance, give guidance and attend to all inpatient spiritual needs. I would also assist in mowing the Hospitals grass if that is what is called for.

Provides bereavement services such as bereavement visits and phone calls as needed. Preach at memorial services, as well as at funerals for families whom have had loved ones pass on.

Provide education and training in all areas of hospice care. Train volunteers in all aspects of hospice care. Provides pastoral care to staff and volunteers as appropriate. Helps all patients and families to reconcile with God before the death of their loved ones.

Develops conferences on numerous issues related to mental health. Teach courses to nursing homes, churches, etc. on death and dying, issues of grief, and lead bereavement memorial services at institutions where death is a frequent issue.

Provide pastoral assistance to patients prior to, and after surgeries. Provides reading materials, Bibles, Holy Cards; Rosaries and where appropriate, Certificates of Blessing, Holy Water and Oils.

To be a humble follower of God’s word and to promote Faith, Hope and Charity. To preach and to pass along the Christian faith wherever it may take me.

Youth Ministry: Responsibilities would include: Develop, organize, and lead a mid-week community of kids that draws from the church, the neighborhood, and local schools (minimum 1/3 time). Develop, organize, and lead a Sunday morning meeting that instills a passion in kids for discipleship. Develop a calendar of socials, outings, retreats, and mission trips. Get involved in kids' lives beyond meetings (games, meals, mentoring, etc.). Worship at Sunday morning worship service, as well as coordinate youth involvement in the service. Participate in some way with our juniors program to help kids make the transition from it to our Jr. High program.

Ability to inspire, involve, train, and equip volunteer leaders. Ability to plan and execute a vision and yet able to adapt to change.

Manage the daily operations of the Chaplaincy Service, ensuring adequate service levels and quality of service on a 24-hour basis. Participate in direct services to patients, family members/significant others, and staff. Interact daily with staff and interdisciplinary team members to formulate and evaluate patient care needs. Provide documentation in the patient care record. Serve on Medical Center Committees as required by hospital policies and procedures or as requested. Assure accreditation compliance of the chaplaincy service. Coordinate, supervise and evaluate lay volunteers and the ecumenical interfaith chaplaincy program. Serve as a liaison between the Medical Center, local congregations and religious institutions. Form a steering committee of local clergy to support the Chaplaincy program. Oversee the use and maintenance of the Meditation Room. Conduct in-service training for staff in regard to providing spiritual support. Conduct services for patients, as requested. Participate in appropriate professional associations for personal and professional growth. Demonstrate ability to minister with persons of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

Attend monthly regional service meetings and bring back best practices. Run service reports monthly and as needed and provide to local leadership. Attend local Service Steering Committee. Collaborate with Individual unit of the Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB) Committees to design rapid cycle tests of change that will lead to improved service scores.

Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information (HIPPA), protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements all policies and procedures.
