On $19m development and expansion works which includes; new construction of onsite storm water management; regenerative storm water conveyance; surface parking and associated modification; and a new construction of 50,000SF administration block: Duties included;

o Reviews contractor’s pay application on unit price contract items

o Performs quantity take-offs and pricing using RS means Cost works

o Review and evaluate change order requests.

o Evaluate request for pay application of contractor.

o Assist in analyzing and updating project schedule

o Registering contractors’ material tickets and time sheets in owners prescribed CM12 software systems.

Bates Middle School Sitework Improvements, Annapolis, MD

Project estimator/Site inspector:

Edward assisted as an inspector on the Bates Middle School Bus Loop and Parking Lot improvement project in Annapolis, MD. He reviewed change orders and attended progress and punch list meetings.

Participated in the analysis of property reinstatement claims of $63 million. Reviewed contractors’ pay application on time and material contract. Verify prices and quantities on contractor’s invoice submissions. Analyzes owner’s implicit costs for claims.

Edward prepared and monitored cost estimate from conceptual design thru to developed design and participated in the general contractor’s selection evaluation process.

Dundee University Expansion Works Dundee Scotland

Quantity Surveyor

Edward the assistant cost estimator on $20million expansion works on Dundee University infrastructure in U.K. The scope of the project included, construction of 200 sitting capacity ultra modern lecture theatre with offices and remodeling of administrative block and extensive landscaping on campus. He prepared a cost estimate of the structural design and compiled site visit reports for the preliminary cost estimation. He performed bid analysis in the selection process of subcontractors. Additionally he prepared biweekly progress reports and notified contractors on their pay applications.

Ejisu Junior Secondary School Complex

Quantity Surveyor.

As Quantity Surveyor of a $2million school project, Mr. Kontor provided technical expertise on project cost to the budget office for planning purposes. In consultation with the architect, he prepared the bid document for contractors’ procurement. He was able to maintained litigation free records for claims. .

Standard Chartered and Barclays Bank Refurbishment

As cost estimator for a facility management firm in Ghana, Mr. Kontor worked on new projects as well as refurbishment of financial institutions, such as: Barclays Bank Ghana, Standard Chartered Bank; and Ecobank Ghana Limited. The total contract value of these projects was $3. His role varied from site agent to cost estimator. His responsibilities included preparing and managing of budget for the installation of acoustic ceiling, partitioning, glazing and other modern communication facilities.

As a building technologist with a facility management firm in Ghana, Mr. Kontor inspected and certified the pay applications submitted by subcontractors for payments. He inspected works executed by subcontractors and make recommendation for payment. Stake holders were regularly updated on the progress of works and technical advice was given to subcontractors.
