4. Brief Suicide Prevention gatekeeper training program enhance observed skills, Training Volunteers in Suicide Prevention: An Intervention Study.

Status: Article has been sent to the Archives of Suicide Research.

5. Caregiver’s perspective of children in conflict with law: An explorative study.

Status: Need approval from Department of Women and Child Welfare.

Relevant Information

• In Collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Team, was instrumental in starting a 24- hour Suicide Hipline, the first of its kind in Bangalore on Oct.10, 2010. Have been actively involved in advertising, counseling people in distress, training volunteers in suicide prevention and networking.

• Instrumental in initiating to set up a legal clinic in collaboration with Karnataka State Legal Health Authority at Spandana Rehabilitation and Research Training Centre to address the legal issues of Caregivers and Persons affected with Mental Illness.

• Initiating and established Family support group for families of Persons affected with Substance Dependence. Every 1st week of Saturday will discuss family issues, patient care, legal issue and legislator measure.

Organized

• Conducted a Three Day State Level Workshop in Training Volunteers in Suicide Prevention at Spandana Rehabilitation Research and Training Centre, Bangalore from June 23rd--25th 2011.

• Psychiatric Rehabilitation in 2020: Professional, Caregiver and Social Perspective: A Two Day Workshop for Caregivers of Persons with Mental Illness was conducted from September, 9th --10th 2011 at Spandana Rehabilitation Research and Training Centre, Bangalore.

• A Half day Programme on Family Support Groups and Alcohol & Substance Dependent Persons.

• Conducting Monthly workshops for Persons with Substance dependence and caregivers every 1st week of the month.

• Conducted half a day program on “World Mental Health Day” on October 10th, 2011 by creating awareness program to MSW, GNM, B.Sc Nursing Students and arranging a Walkathon at Spandana Rehabilitation Research and Training Centre, Bangalore.
