SUMMARY:

I have a Master’s degree in Geology and 5 years of active professional experience exclusively in Roads/Highways in the capacity of Material Engineer, Laboratory Technician & Geotechnical Engineer in firms including Halcrow International, Fugro Middle East & Tangram Architects and Designers. As a Material engineer in road projects, I have worked to maintain quality on project and material testing in laboratory. Class 5 Driving license.

My experiences as a Materials/Geotechnical Engineer include:

Investigation and design of cuttings and embankments

Investigation of problem soils (e.g. Expansive clays) and design of remedial measures

Well log interpretation, Oil well drilling

Field non destructive testing like insitu CBR, plate loading testing.

Field as well as laboratory testing includes material as well as geotechnical testing for soil, asphalt , aggregate, road base, sub base, wet mix, concrete, paint, steel, road marking, drilling samples, water and chemical tests.

Borehole logging and various tests for bore holes.

Landslide investigation (investigation, analysis and design of remedial measures for slope stability, rock fall, creep etc).

Pavement condition survey and road assessment by checking various asphalt distresses on various chain ages.

Provision of soil reinforcement and ground stabilisation solutions.

Subsurface exploration on trunk roads, rural roads, bridges, airfields and buildings.

RESPONSIBILITIES HANDLED:

Road assessment, approval of material for site, checking suitability for existing sub grade and sub base, Site and Lab testing for Soil, Aggregate, Asphalt, Concrete and Sub base according to BS and ASTM methods. Road marking, Coating thickness for manhole cover and frames, Preparing and approve test results. Soil investigation and Geotechnical investigation. Checking material submittal and giving approval to appropriate material according to specifications. Concrete and Asphalt designing. Quality audits and implementation of quality system for construction progress.

RESPONSIBILITIES HANDLED:

Ensure quality & testing of material used on site according to specified standards mentioned in specification. Site and laboratory testing of Soil, Concrete, Asphalt & Aggregate according to the specification. Participate with PRESSURE & AIR TESTING team to ensuring the PVC pipes and asbestos pipes are free from any leakage. Writing daily progress report to RE. Attend coordination meeting with Client & Contractor. Asphalt & Concrete designing according to requirement in capacity with senior Material Engineer. Geotechnical related to various testing of Borehole which includes Description (TCR,SCR,RQD), Drilling (SPT, n-value), Atterberg limit, Hydrometer, Point load test, Porosity, UCS, Triaxial test and other testing related to geotechnical engineering. In the absence of site engineer and surveyor on site - involve in the site inspection and level checking by means of total station.

Fugro Middle East, Dubai , UAE Nov 2005 – July 2007 (Geological Lab Technician)

RESPONSIBILITIES HANDLED:

Soil testing which includes Proctor, CBR, Suitability of soil, Sieving, compaction test with sand replacement as well as nuclear method.

Aggregate testing which includes Sieving, Soundness test, Aggregate crushing value, Ten percent fineness value, Loss on Abrasion, Flakiness, Elongation, Water absorption, Specific gravity,

Asphalt testing includes testing of Wearing and base course by Marshall test, Specific gravity, VIM, VMA, VFB, Stability, Flow, Stiffness, Gmm, Gse, Bitumen content.

Geotechnical testing which includes Atterberg limit, Hydrometer, Triaxial test, Point load test, Porosity, Bore hole logging, Pressure test, UCS,

Concrete testing includes Slump, Air content, designing, testing of aggregate& shrinkage limit.

Steel testing, Coating thickness testing of Manhole cover & frames, reporting & site testing.
