Subject: Application for the position of Project Manager

Am an experienced professional with national and international experience seeking a senior management position in a dynamic and enterprising environment in business management preferably in a service industry including airline industry/aviation management. I believe am equal to the challenge at hand.

I have both the relevant Academic and Professional qualifications as well as the diversified experience in senior management positions including at the international level.

Academically, I have a BS in Aviation Management (Business Administration & Economics), Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas & an MA in International Relations/International Business, Georgetown University, Washington, DC.

Professionally, am an IOSA certified Quality Management auditor/inspector (IATA regional offices, Montreal, Canada, December, 2005). The IOSA is the IATA airline operational Quality, Safety and Security certification and is essentially in line with both ISO and FAA standards. And thou have not been an active flyer for a number of years, am an FAA certified pilot-CPL, SML, IR and CFI ratings (Included here just to show the scope and level of acquired skills).

Additionally, I had enrolled in and completed an intensive two-year in–house on-the-job executive management training program with my employer-an International Airline-in all aspects of airline management with emphasis on Marketing/Sales and thereafter attended numerous specialized courses, seminars and workshops: in leadership/management, professional, business and technical areas.

I have over twenty five years of national and international business management experience mostly in the highly developed airline industry in progressively senior and responsible management positions.

My experience is focused on both the business and the operational/technical areas of the airline industry and the aviation sector: Management of people and resources, Marketing/Business and Market Development, Strategic Planning, Corporate Affairs, Project Management and Total Quality Management including: Process Optimization, Performance Measurement, CRM/CSM, Risk Management & Total Quality Audit).

The airline experience has helped me develop and sharpen my time management skills, adhere to and respect on-time-performance and the performance standards required to achieve and sustain it. My experience in strategic planning helped develop and consolidate my skills in the cost-effective deployment and synergy of resources, cost/profitability and revenue management analysis. It also sharpened my research, analytical and presentation skills and attention to detail while keeping an eye on the achievement of strategic objectives.

Marketing/Sales both at the home base and abroad, helped consolidate and refine my business development and negotiating skills and the ability to achieve set revenue targets. It also helped me develop such a dedication to uncompromisingly high standards of customer service/customer satisfaction both to internal and external customers-which satisfaction is a key performance indicator among others.

As an airline executive and a certified pilot, I have gained solid knowledge of and experience in airport operations and environment including quality, safety, security and an understanding for the requirements of airport customers both airlines and travelers. The airline industry is essentially a logistics business: transporting people and goods in comfort, safety and speed.

More over, I have acquired a healthy understanding of and experience in Total Quality Management including quality assurance, process management/process optimization, departmental and corporate performance measurement (KPI’s), benchmarking techniques and risk management which were part of my responsibilities as Head of Corporate Quality Management Department (CQM).

I offer leadership by example, am people oriented, a team player, initiated and managed change and capacity building successfully; am focused, disciplined, result-oriented and have the ability to work under pressure. I possess highly developed interpersonal and communications skills both oral and written, analytical and presentation skills as well as the ability to articulate positions in a clear and concise manner both to internal, external end users and stake holders. I have the ability to operate effectively across cultural barriers of all sorts.

I have traveled extensively, am well read, and enjoy travel, sports, classical music and working in a challenging, dynamic and enterprising environment.

Accordingly, am ready for a challenging management position and given the opportunity will render a good account of myself.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any additional information.
