Self healing of road accidents: a wireless approach

This was a group project covered under team strength of three. It covers both hardware and software interfaces. Microcontroller is the heart of project with equal importance shared by Zigbee trans-receiver and voice module. KEIL embedded C language was used for programming.

This project aims at developing a traffic accident prevention system using wireless technology. This has been done by projecting the traffic signboards to the car driver beforehand by a compact, more precise embedded module. Then the driver is given a clean view of the road before the entry place. The driver is also given an intimation of the road whenever a traffic signboard is reached beforehand.

By implementing such a concept as proposed the accidents can be minimized to a higher level. As each sign board is intimated properly to the user the reasons of weather conditions and visibility of path is reduced.

These units can be provided to vehicle drivers or can be attached to all vehicles as a compulsory component. The sign boards along the road are attached with sensors for transmitting sign board data wirelessly.

Establishing an integrated management system (ISO9001, ISO 14001, SA 8000 & OHSAS 18001) for an opencast coalmine project

This is an ongoing project in Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Sambalpur (Orissa). Its aim is to cover all the departments and working units of project under Integrated Management System (IMS) so as to get overall system improvement. By this time many projects have been covered under IMS and result can be seen from their annual production.

By having such a system in any organization, results in environmental impacts, enhanced safety measures in mines and workshops, teamwork, customer satisfaction etc.
