Objective
I would like to continue working within the allied health care field. I have
extensive experience within the laboratory, and have worked in hospitals, clinics
and physicians offices as well as an independent paramedical examiner. I am a
level II phlebotomist with over 25 years experience. I am an expert in advanced
technique on all patient populations, neonate to geriatric. I am experienced in
processing and POCT testing operations. I hold multiple certifications within the
allied health care field, as well as certification as a BLSI/CPR training instructor.
I have instructed and trained students and employees in various areas of the
allied health care field, including OSHA and HIPAA compliance. I can offer
your company a wealth of knowledge and experience, whether an instructor,
trainer or manager. I believe I would be an asset to any organization Whether
as a support to your existing management staff, or as an intricate member to the
management staff itself.
EXPERIENCE
Apps Paramedical
Paramedical Examiner
4/2010 - 6/2011
As a paramedical examiner I was subcontracted to perform examinations for
various insurance companies. These exams included phlebotomy, ekg, vitals,
height, weight and medical assessment of current and past conditions that
may or may not qualify them for obtaining insurance. I scheduled clients for
exams both in their homes, or professional places of business. I carried out
a variety of tasks to accommodate the needs of both the client and the insurance
representatives in a timely manner. These examinations were required to be
error free, both clinically and administrative. All applications of quality assurance
had to be strictly adhered to, including all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Because I worked independently, I had to perform my job functions with error
free precision, as there was no back up for any mistakes. My clinical performance
was met in each case without error. I personally managed all administrative duties
and client service communications with the utmost professionalism, and my
time with the company was very well received.
Estrella Mountain Community College
Medical Programs Instructor
5/2006 - 11/2009
As an instructor for the medical programs department at the Southwest Skill
Center, my primary concentration was in hematology and phlebotomy. I taught
front and back office medical assisting, medical terminology, anatomy and
physiology and chemistry; all components of the health care curriculum at the
college. My students were instructed in OSHA and HIPAA compliance as well
as taught concentrated customer service skills. Teaching my students how to
communicate effectively with employees, management teams and clients, was
a top priority. When instructing students on how to be a valuable member of
the health care community, I emphasized strong customer service values, an
essential component in the development of their career skills. I coordinated all
externship placement, as well as forming effective clinical partnerships.
I implemented the first ever phlebotomy program at Estrella Mountain Community
College, a division of the Maricopa Community of Colleges, and had a post
graduate hiring ratio of 97%. The highest rating of any of the allied programs,
including the nursing program. It was a tremendous success.
