Professional Experience
Presagis USA, Richardson, TX 2008 – 2012
Program Engineer
Company provides commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) modeling, simulation and embedded graphics software solutions.
• Reported to the Director of Technical Services, leading cross-functional/domain teams in planning, execution and monitoring of assigned programs and projects in the market focus areas of Presagis.
• Worked on a daily basis to provide program status, technical risk assessments, and recommended action plans to the Presagis Project Manager who was tasked with commercial execution of the project.
• Participated in and delivered project activities, such as acceptance design, compliance feedback to the matrixed project team, acceptance, documentation, integration, troubleshooting, support and training.
• Site integration trips to install and configure Presagis software products (VegaPrime and Lyra) based on customer needs and requirements for the Image Generator.
Rockwell Collins, Inc., Richardson, TX 2007 – 2008
Systems Engineer
• Assisted System Architect on Future Combat Systems (FCS) on the Integrated Computer System (ICS) for ground transport vehicles.
• Updated the Sub/System Design Description (SSDD) for the network processor of the FCS ICS.
• Coordinated the team with tasking based on effort needed by the System Architect.
Northrop Grumman Corporation, Euless, TX 2006 – 2007
Systems Engineer/Consultant
• Generated a data set from ERAM (EnRoute Automation Modernization) data products for ACES(Adaptation Controlled Environment System) viewer. These ERAM data products were in XML. Used JAXB(Java Architecture for XML Binding) API to create Java objects from XSD using XJC(XML Java Compiler) tool in the Eclipse SDK.
• Designed and developed site specific software adaptation requirements for fourteen Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs)
• Supported Multi-Center Traffic Management Advisor (MC-TMA) simulations, testing and research at NASA Ames and NASA North Texas Research Station.
• Provided consultation for software/adaptation interface design and ensured the adaptation was updated in accordance to the FAA mandatory 56 day Chart Change Update (CCU) cycle.
Raytheon, Garland, TX 2004 – 2006
Systems Engineer
• Analyzed DIB (Distributed Common Ground System Integrated Backbone) implementations for the Navy through a DCGS-N design utilizing the AF 10.2 DIB to permit interoperability with other DCGS elements.
• Examined the current framework for metadata using Weblogic and J2EE. Updated XML schemas for data extension to NITF v2.1 which facilitated integration for other systems using DCGS.
• Characterized and documented sensor model parameters, such as distortion and focal length parameters. Investigated and developed a Matlab simulation implementing the image to ground projection component of the Global Hawk EO/IR sensor. Investigated and identified techniques for future work in characterizing the GH EO/IR lens optical distortion characteristics.
Northrop Grumman Information Technology, Ft. Worth, TX 1999 – 2004
Systems Engineer
• Identified software requirements, performed system design and acceptance testing, changed processing and resolution, and coordinated installation support of CTAS (Center-TRACON Automation System) software tools for FAA at MSP TRACON and ARTCC.
• Updated CTAS adaptation to conform to current HOST computer adaptation specific to MSP ARTCC. This enabled proper communication between CTAS and the HOST computer system.
• Tested changes in DYSIM environment to conform to sector display requirements specified by ATM (Air Traffic Management) to improve the sector display. Resulted in better use of CTAS by the ATM through more efficient use of airspace during high air traffic capacity.
• Traveled to MSP TRACON and ZMP center to provide 100% of the adaptation and software support for CTAS tools.
• Assisted site lead responsibilities on CTAS tools at MSP facilities.
• Developed UNIX shell scripts for verification and validation of system performance with new software adaptation releases. Developed scripts to monitor disk space utilization.
• Performed functional analysis and interface definition of system to translate customer requirements into software specification updates.
