- Assume primary responsibility in coordinating the logistics of freight and personnel movements by air, railway, highway, and water.
- Counsel and recommend military and DOD civilians of their entitlements for shipment of personal property and passenger travel; handle the preparation of necessary documentation.
- Schedule and accommodate all transportation requests accordingly to meet movement mission and objectives, while adhering with regulatory requirements on all cargo and freight shipment activities.
- Utilize automated data terminal equipment in preparing all movement documentation and correspondences involving freight, cargo, and material shipment movements.
- Arrange and prepare transportation movements and shipment documentation for type of shipment and mode of travel purposes, such as GBLs, MTAs, GTRs, airline service requests, and others; execute administrative duties, including posting regulations, maintaining files, and drafting office correspondence.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance for subordinates in the areas of travel entitlements and documentation.
- Serve as customs officer for shipment releases in overseas theaters, and act as quality control NCO for commercial movement contracts.
- Track and manage all aspects of freight, cargo, and materiel shipments; assess problem-causing areas throughout the traffic management system to prevent additional costs, losses, and damage.
- Document movement information, conduct research, monitor movements, review commercial contracts, and respond to shipment inquiries, discrepancies, and routine movements transactions through the use of automated data processing equipment.
- Carry out issuance of government and civilian shipping documents, such as freight bills, bills of lading, and freight manifest sheets.
- Render assistance to military members in preparing travel itineraries, personal property shipping documents, and passenger movement forms.
- Manage and maintain personnel information into the database systems; leverage knowledge on electronic software programs and execute software and data installs into the computer systems.
- Draft memorandums and generate spreadsheets, organize unit and brigade level training, and ensure personnel qualifications and deployment readiness.
- Administer staff management and personnel-related documentation in the areas of staffing and recruitment, trainings and classifications, performance evaluation of employees, as well as grievances and employees’ leave of absence.
