WORK EXPERIENCE
1. Process Engineer (CAFCA Limited Harare) - CAFCA is Zimbabwe’s only manufacturer of energy and communication cables. The company’s products conform to SANS1507 and BS6500.It is ISO 9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 certified.
Period: 01 May 2009 to date.
Responsibilities:
Designing Tooling Requirement Plan (TRP) for machine attachments in order to convert a Sales Plan into a finished product.
Designing Machine Manufacturing Specifications (MMS) using input from cable product specifications.
Troubleshooting process problems faults.
Root Causes Analysis on manufacturing process and generating corrective and preventive actions so as to improve machine performance or processes.
Attending to customer complaints on Product Specifications and functionality and carry out Product Value Engineering (PVE) so as to improve Product Quality.
Commissioning and manufacture of new products from design development stage to full production.
Carrying out Quality Internal audits to fulfill the continuous Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) required by ISO9001:2008 management system.
Internal auditing of safety, health and environmental related issues in terms of the OHS Act and ISO14001Environmental Management System (EMS).
Project Management evaluation and Cost Benefit Analysis as Technical services to Production and Engineering departments.
Projects carried out:
1. Reduction of PVC Overusage in flexible cable products.
• This resulted in the reduction of overusage of PVC compound during cable manufacturing from 49% to 20%.
2. Trainee Process and Projects Engineer (Almin Metal Industries Harare).Almin Metal Industries is a solo Zimbabwe extruder of aluminum, aluminum alloys and a fabricator of aluminum value-added products. Products include irrigation pipes&accessories and NuKlip products. NuKlip is the brand name given to a range of extruded aluminum profiles providing solutions for architects. NuKlip applications can be used in residential, commercial and retail developments. Almin metal industries is registered under SAZ 9001:2008 quality standard

Responsibilities:
Planning plant maintenance schedules for plant machinery which includes gear boxes, fluid coupling and fluid drive systems, compressors, pumps, draught fans, chiller plant, induction furnaces, electric motors, extrusion hydraulic press using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach.
Production planning and control for Extrusion plant using CS3.
Compilation and analysis of Almin plant’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the following plants; Extrusion plant, Remelt plant, Foundry plant, Anodizing plant and Powder coating plant.
Carrying out furnace charge calculations and charge correction for Remelt and Foundry furnace operations.
Carrying out process improvement projects.
Carrying out spectrographic analysis for Remelt, Foundry and Scrap precast samples.
Internal Quality assurance practices in all production plants in order to accomplish ISO9001: 2000 Quality Management System.
Co-ordinating the implementation of sound Safety and Health procedures in all production plants as part of fulfilling ISO9001: 2000 Quality Management System.
Preparing Safety and Health checklist for internal Safety Audit.
Projects carried out:
i. Scrap optimization using Theory of Constraints and modeling methods.
This resulted in reduction of High Purity Aluminum ingots requirements falling from 60% to 40% thereby saving importation costs.
ii. Cycle time reduction for Foundry plant using facilities redesigning.
Resulted in lead-time reduction of all Foundry products by 10%.
3. Trainee Mechanical&Industrial Engineer (Lancashire Steel Ltd, Kwekwe).Lancashire Steel is a subsidiary of ZISCO that specializes in the manufacture of Steel wire, barbed wire and steel rods. The company is ISO 9001 and IS014001 certified.
Duration : 8 months.
Period : All vacations from first year up to third year.
Responsibilities:
Planning and scheduling plant maintenance schedules using Computer Based Maintenance. Plant equipment includes compressors, pumps, muffle conveyors, gear boxes, electric motors and steam boilers.
Carrying out production planning, order processing and production calculations for Rod mill and Wire mill plants.
Designing die set arrangements for wire drawing processes.
Maintaining the Boiler house and carrying out treatment of boiler water.
