• Reduced accounts receivable by over $1.2M by utilizing the Customer Service department to call customers whose credit card had expired (GMPCS Personal Communications).

• Cut paint time in half by informing plant management of a paint robot not being utilized at another plant. The existing robot painted the body color and the new robot painted the clear coat, resulting in a cost savings of over $500K per year (Siegel-Robert, Inc.).

• Implemented new telephone system & negotiated a cellular contract, thus resulting in a cost savings of over $150K per year (NSW Submarine Cable Systems).

• Negotiated a new office lease, resulting in a cost savings of $84K per year (NSW Submarine Cable Systems).

• Established a cost cell manufacturing environment for automotive components that resulted in a reduction of six direct labor personnel and an annual cost savings of $200K (Acro Molded Products).

• Implemented various packaging changes that resulted in an estimated savings of $50K (Acro Molded Products).

• Implemented procedures to reduce time to take the physical inventory by 50%, thus saving overtime and saving over $10K annually (Cargill Food Distribution)

• Automated physical inventory process, thereby eliminating overtime and saving $5K per month (Acro Molded Products).

• Oversaw two external audits and one review performed by Ernst & Young (GMPCS Personal Communications).

• Reduced DSO from 18 to 13 days on Distribution and from 30 to 22 days on Cruise (Cargill Food Distribution).

• Implemented accounting systems and internal control polices for sales & project office (NSW Submarine Cable Systems).

• Implemented procedures to include sales department in collection efforts, thus reducing bad debt and creating an increased awareness in their accounts (Cargill Food Distribution).

• Development of a Key Strategy Manual for Controllers, so that all fiduciary duties were consistent for all 10 company-wide locations (Cargill Food Distribution).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Cargill Food Distribution, Miami Lakes FL (Controller) 3/2008 – 7/2011

• Distributor of meat, pork, poultry and seafood to supermarkets, meat distributors and cruise lines, with $250M in annual sales. Responsible for two B/U’s servicing the entire state of Florida and Cruise lines.

• Duties included month-end closings, overseeing all A/P, A/R, inventory and contract management, budgeting, forecasting, HR and IT functions. Managed for accounting and two sales personnel.

• Reason for leaving: Mutual decision to end employment due to a new strategic direction for this satellite office.

Steel Fabricators, LLC, Fort Lauderdale, FL (Controller) 6/2007 – 2/2008

• Steel construction company that fabricated its own steel. Mostly concentrated on the commercial sector as well as performed jobs on the residential side, with revenues in excess of $100M.

• Responsible for all daily activities of the accounting & billing departments, including A/P, A/R, inventory and contract management. Managed four accounting personnel.

• Reason for leaving: Position was eliminated due to economic recession.

GMPCS Personal Communications, Pompano Beach, FL (Controller) 1/2006 – 5/2007

• Satellite communications provider that serviced the television / news media as well as the general public, with sales in excess of $50M.

• Responsible for all accounting and billing functions, SOX compliance and customer service.

• Managed four direct reports and thirty indirect reports.

• Reason for leaving: Company sold to private equity firm. Position was eliminated.

NSW Submarine Cable Systems, Boca Raton, FL (Controller) 4/2001 – 12/2005

• Sales and project office for the Americas that included the installation of fiber-optic telecommunication cable, linking over 20 countries throughout the Caribbean. Total revenues in excess of $30M.

• Responsible for all accounting functions, SOX compliance and HR functions.

• Managed four direct reports and 5 indirect reports.

• Reason for leaving: Resigned, office closed.

• Plastic injection molding manufacturer that produced parts for the automotive and appliance industry, with sales in excess of $350M.

1. Responsible for all accounting functions, monthly physical inventories, cost accounting and estimating for the Florida location. Managed four accounting & one clerical personnel .

1. Developed cost and estimating standards for two manufacturing plants, performed detailed time studies on jobs in the plants and allocated revenue between the plants and departments.
