Recruited to the research project due to Spanish proficiency where I survey participants and complete a 75 question questionnaire that elicits their knowledge about healthy food, their emotion attached to food, eating habits, and physical activity for a ten week intervention program aimed at improving nutritional and exercise behaviors in adult women of childbearing age.

Trained in data collection procedure both in individual and group survey administration in English and Spanish, especially in a high pace office and with high quality work standards; Learned how to collect data in medical health care settings and learned how to communicate with the Latin community.

Promoted to data entry team and learned how to enter data in SPSS; Manage data entry errors and missing data to ensure quality of data, as well as compliance of survey rules and regulations.

Launched and finalized a step-by-step instruction guide designed for superiors in order to construct a demographic profile of the impacted population during a pre-notice and/or no-notice disaster.

Researched vulnerable population data for key characteristics, including race, color, national origin, limited English proficiency, religion, sex, disability, immigrants, children, seniors, economically disadvantaged, homelessness, Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered populations; learned how to interpret Census data, language, and definitions.

Ensured all data was obtained by jurisdiction, such as county, city, town, and state.

Senior Intern August 2009–December 2009

Responsible for successfully communicating the Governor’s message to local constituents and collecting feedback regarding the Governor’s goals for California.
