Process Engineer through Aerotek Industries
Design and implement Quality Systems in Manufacturing for Fuel Systems including problem solving defects, new tooling and implementation of controls.
Mitigate risk and reduce customer defects by understanding detailed CID and Internal Product Drawing requirements, translated to writing of thoroughly detailed and accurate Ballooned Drawings, PFMEA and Control Plans.
Quality failure analysis of every single Purchased Component on the complex 132 piece assembly; develop and write the Pass Through Characteristic Matrix for the Module Assembly. Apply Lean Principles to available data; including Supplier Non-conformance reports, assembly floor issues, Customer Reports, 8-D’s, RPPM and Materials delivery performance reports. Monitor, prioritize and control problem areas on purchased parts.
Use TS-16949, APQP Methodology and understanding of GD & T to implement new controls where risk and and defect feedback show to be a problem. The revised designs, tooling and methods accomplished a 60 percent reduction in customer returns, improved throughput and reduced scrap and rework by 5 percent.
Millennium Industries, Ligonier IN 6/2010 - 9/2011
Manufacturing Engineer through Peak Industries
Total responsibility for Plant Trials; Organize, Expedite and Communicate with all plant personnel and suppliers for smooth and non disruptive runs. Run lean sample production with proper sample quantities delivered just in time and assemblies produced just in time meeting customer demand. Minimize impact to production, work with line teams for high quality process including new/revised tooling, equipment and product changes. Produce all requirements for testing, analysis, pre-approval, and PPAP Parts. Develop and implement new plant trial procedure, tagging and plant trial Run Log.
Conceptualize, Design, and Manufacture tooling and check fixtures for operations improvement to cost and quality.
Drive Engineering Change backlog to completion. Analyze causes of delay and develop solutions with all Plant Management, responsible functional groups, customers and supply base for rapid incorporation to process - Completed 95% of delayed changes.
Reduce scrap and braze rework by 80% on a non-standard projection weld process involving 32 projections per hit. Lead cross-functional team to success through development of tensile pull force data vs. visual/feeler observation.
Reach problem resolution through the 8-D method of problem solving using statistical data to track average and standard deviation, improving Cpk by 1.2 points. Examples include Axi-rad fallout/ damage and ball end surface damage.
